(Whilst balancing his spear on his shoulder, Nuada smiles callously and walks slowly around the room.) I suggest you put your affairs in order - if such things matter to you. Your efforts will undoubtedly be useless, but I hear that "keeping busy" helps your kind cope with loss.

It will not only be me. I am merely the catalyst for change.

History is laden with change that is heavy from blood. You intend to contribute to that history?

I intend to remove humans from it.

They have as much right to life as you.

[golden_army]

They disdain the gifts Nature has given them. (He lifts his chin angrily.) They tread upon the gifts given their kind without a thought as to the destruction they cause.

So then you feel you have the right to kill them? To destroy them? Teach them. Humans can listen, can love and learn.

[golden_army]

The time for such has passed. I will not let my kind fade.

Have you even tried? They don't need to fade, but have you truly tried?

My father did much. He settled treaties with all Magical races. Only the humans refused to acknowledge our requests.

For that, they will pay in blood.

You did not answer my question. Did you actually try?

I fought many battles, my lady. I did my part to ensure peace.

By who?

Fighting with weapons is not the same as fighting with words and seeking a compromise. Humans change, their lives are not as long as yours [And certainly not as long as hers.] Technology and understanding changes. You cannot expect the humans of now to share the same opinion as those of the past. I know you and your kind have suffered wounds and scars, but the humans of this generation simply do not know. And damning them for something they do not know, have not been informed does not make you just.

It is their duty to know the knowledge of their ancestors. (He turns away from her. She sounds too much like Nuala. His sister simply didn't understand what humans were capable of. The Elves need to stick around to ensure the other Magical races survive.) Within their bodies, the blood of their forefathers and foremothers runs strong. Ignorance is not a shield against judgement. Judgement will come no matter what. I am simply hastening it.

Stubbornness is not a shield, either. [She had hoped he would understand.] You are unwilling to see the truth that they simply don't know. So instead of doing the difficult work of talking to humans, of seeing that they can be wonderful and kind and listen makes you just as ignorant.

[golden_army]

My lady, my kind is dying out rapidly. Because of humans. I do not have the time it would take to negotiate with all of them individually. (Nor would he waste his time on such an endeavor.) There are those I wish to save. For them, I will pause.

I leave those feelings to my twin.

I do understand there is a matter of time. But to bathe the land in blood is no better than the mistakes humans are making. The earth would not wish to see the blood of so many innocents bathe and drench the soil.

I understand the desire to save your loved ones and your people. But I cannot agree that genocide of an entire race is the way to do it.

[golden_army]

Innocents? Innocents? (He smiles bitterly.) I believe you are confusing ignorance for innocence. They are not one and the same.

Once I command the golden army, I may take heed of your words.

Yes, innocents. You intend to kill children, do you not? That is what must be done for humans to be wiped out. Children have done no crime except be born and desire to live and love.

[golden_army]

Children of humans carry the same blood and genes as their parents. They are not immune to their elder's plight. (He arches a brow.) It wouldn't be fair for them to outlive those who could care for them.

[moonlit_star]

They are innocent. The actions of their ancestors do not reflect upon them. You may have the blood of your father, but you are not him. To expect such a thing of humans is hypocrisy.

[golden_army]

My father lives within me whether it pleases me or not. I accept that. (In actuality, he had loved his father.) His death did not erase him. It merely denied him a physical form.

Answer me, are you him? Do you think and feel the same things as he did?

[golden_army]

Obviously not. Thus why I killed him.

So then how can you insist humans are exactly the same as their ancestors from dozens of generations ago when you are not the same as your father, do not think or feel the same as him? You do not share his opinions, so why do you think humans share the opinions of the past? People, more than any of us, are prone to change.

[golden_army]

Humans show their natures plainly. If you cannot see their faults, perhaps you are blind to them as well. (He sighs deeply.) My vision is clear. I will reclaim the Elven birthright and forge a new world - one in which all Magical races can live without fear.

[moonlit_star]

They can learn! Give them that chance before you kill an entire species. You're vision is clouded in stubbornness. You claim humans cannot learn, that they should know the actions of their ancestors, that they would do the same as their ancestors, when you yourself do not do the same as your own father. Why are you allowed to be different from your ancestors when humans can not?

Is it the magical race you wish to let live without fear... or merely live under your rule?

My vision is clouded by revenge - if it is clouded at all. (He brings his spear out and elongates it with a bare thought.) My exile has taught me much. The path of a warrior is best when dealing with long-standing issues. If one of the humans takes it upon himself to challenge, I shall listen.

My father was once a great warrior. I follow in his footsteps.

(That angers him. He points his spear at her briefly.)

The Magical races have nothing to fear from me. Our truce with them remains in place.

[Serenity is not scared of the spear, even when it is pointed at her. She merely gazes at him sadly.] Nothing good can come from revenge. You are old enough to know that.

Until a magical race becomes too great and acts like the humans did? Then they will be massacred next, is that it? After all, you are willing to break the truce with the humans.

[golden_army]

Victory can come from any fight. My feelings of revenge are secondary. (A catalyst for the catalyst one might say.) Even Elves far older than I take part in wars. Age does not dictate peaceful existences.

Humans are not great. They are bothersome and too numerous. Their talent lies in destruction and propagation.

[moonlit_star]

Simply because one takes part in a war, does not mean they enjoy it. I have been in many wars and I never enjoy it. But so long as innocent people, of any race or culture or species are threatened, than I will defend them. Earth is a chosen holy land, creatures throughout the universe and time seek this land.

And those who would think death is the only way for peace... [She knows on this they will differ greatly. They are different and have different hardships.]

One should have pride in what they do best. I have yet to encounter a foe I could not kill. [He spins the spear with one hand. It's nothing more than a blur.] Elves take great pride in their battle skills. [When the spear comes to a stop, he tosses it into the air, does a flip and catches it nimbly.] I am no different, my lady. I train everyday.

Earth needs to be cleansed. The humans have defiled it enough. Think of it as...removing a pest.

What I do best is defending those I love and the planet I swore to protect.

Earth is sick, but the means is wrong.

[golden_army]

I too wish to protect the planet. Can't you see the humans are killing it?

[moonlit_star]

Then I will help heal the earth, and teach them how to better treat the earth. But I will not say they do not have the right to live.

[golden_army]

I have not seen you in my world, lady. If I do, I shall consider your intentions.

Nor have I seen you in mine. And what saddens me is knowing I cannot help you anywhere but here.

I expect no aid. To depend on such would leave me vulnerable. (Though he detests to lose those who ally themselves with him of their own free will.)

My wish is to help you see that you do not need to destroy an entire species. [Help you kill? No, not this one.] I would not harm humans. I have sworn to protect everyone.

[golden_army]

Protecting everyone only works in theory. If I do not act, my life and the life of my people will be forfeit.

It is not a theory. I know it is possible.
