Mixed thoughts about returning to Luceti

Do I at least get to write a letter to Sozin?

I'm going to miss his birthday again, so it's the least I could do. I know time won't have really passed, but it just doesn't feel right. It's been our only way of keeping in touch since I left the Fire Nation...I'd like to leave him something before going.

It's not my fault it's--....Sozin! [Roku. is beaming. He hasn't seen Sozin in person for a few years now.]

When did you get here? I--man, it's been too long.

[flameosozin]

Almost three years, I think. [But. He's not going to dwell on that. He laughs and then gives a slight tug on Roku's hair.] So aren't you supposed to be bald by now?

[and here he was wondering if he could go see Sozin before starting his waterbending training]

Ow, hey. [With one wave of his hand, Sozin gets a little gust of wind in his face.]

Maybe. But the monks realized I looked better with hair.

[flameosozin]

[Airbending... that's new. Sozin frowns a little bit at that, before shrugging it off.]

Or maybe they let you keep it because they think you look like a girl.

[asjkhgsa, making a face] I don't look like a girl. Do I? [He thought they were laughing at his freakish height. He just smiles anyway, places his arms around Sozin]

It's really good to see you again. I guess we should do our Happy Birthdays now and not later.

Well, I didn't want to say anything. [He snickers. Because Roku would be a very tall and very manly girl. (But then, he is a reincarnation of Kyoshi...)]

I guess so. If I knew we would be here, I would've got you a present.

[flameoroku]

...You're just pulling my leg. [Nope, Sozin's just joking. That's it.]

I think I know how to fix that. [Check it, he's got his glider with him.] Ever been on one of these?

[... Sozin is dubious. He stares at the glider, then at Roku.]

It's a stick.

[Sozin. Oh Sozin. With a tap of the "stick" the wings burst out from it]

It's an air glider. And I happen to be pretty good with one now and can probably fly you anywhere.

[Oh well look at that. It sure looks flimsy. The 'probably' isn't reassuring.]

Are you sure it's meant to carry more than one person?

I've seen the monks take someone with them a few times, I did it once. [Yea, that kinda ended in disaster though.]

[You know, it's only because it's Roku that Sozin even considers this...]

If you get us killed doing this, I won't be your friend anymore.

Flameo, Aang. [Ah...this is a sensitive topic. Maybe he won't bring up Sozin with Aang.] How's things in Luceti so far?

Things have been pretty okay lately, for Luceti. There was a bad experiment earlier in the month, but I think we're mostly better now. I'm just trying to do what I can to make it here and be with my friends, even if I have no idea what's happening this week.

Yea? I think my mun mentioned something weird going on this week. How bad of an experiment was the other one?

A lot of us thought were from other people's worlds. Not just thinking it, we were... changed as if we had lived our whole lives there. I still had my bending powers, though. I thought I was some crimefighter named Robin.

Well, you are technically a crimefighter, but that sounds pretty crazy.

That is pretty true. I can see some of the similarities when I think about it. But I'd pick this life anyday. Especially with all my friends here.

Being Avatar does have its perks...[Friendship...his life] Aang, did my older self ever...mentioned anything about my friendship with Sozin?

...Yeah. You showed me pretty much everything.

Oh, I do? [Sometimes he wonders about his decisions later on in life.]

Sozin's...he's still the same Sozin I'm friends with, right now. If I knew the things I did though, would it have changed anything? ...If I wasn't the Avatar, I could have been by his side the last few years, maybe stopped him from ever thinking about doing the things he does later on.

I don't know, Roku. As much as I'd want you... to do everything you can to stop Sozin before he... [He pauses, leaving that sentence there.] I feel lost, myself. I have no idea how to handle this kind of situation. But ...it's history now. I don't think there's anything that can make a difference anymore.

Yea, it's history for you maybe. It's just...really frustrating, knowing all this and you can't do anything about it.

I'm sorry. Maybe you could try, and see what happens. Just... don't blame yourself. You did what seemed right to you. He was your friend.
