Our race is selfish and works to benefit no other race. We are entitled and vain, we treat those who are not like us differently. We lie, we cheat, we steal, and the worst part is we do these things to ourselves, no one other. We are our own worst enemies.
If you think humanity to be pure and kind, then I partially envy your naivety, Miss... ?
You haven't enough. The things I have seen as a worldwalker have both renewed and destroyed my faith. The truth, in the end, is that humanity will never be all one thing or all the other.
I have seen many, many things. I've both created and destroyed alliances, helped and prevented war. I've gone out of my way to protect and by doing so, brought harm on others. I've witnessed what greed and power can do to a man firsthand. I've experienced it, as well.
Humanity is made up of sins, and yet it expects the Lord's forgiveness. We truly are disgusting race.
There is only one God, my Lady. And you are but one of many that claim this. When your life nears its end, however, fear will begin to take the place of your confidence. You will pray for his forgiveness, as I'm sure you've done things you're not proud of; we all have.
Or maybe another will fall, another close to you, and you'll simply pray for their sake. The only time prayers seem to become constant is when, in my opinion, it's too late.
Foolish man. I have seen the gods, conversed with them regularly, been a victim of their pettiness. And I would never pray to condemn my soul or the souls of those close to me to their care.

You have too much faith in us.

The only consistency is change.

It would be an unkind fate.

You'll fear Hell's gates when the time is nearer. Then, I hope you'll remember this conversation.

A pity. You're the first intelligent conversation I've had in months.

It is.

I wonder what you'll think of Her.

I will not argue with you anymore on the subject of God, my Lady.
