Canon is Aliens... idek what I'm doing.
So. How did you manage to get me back in perfect working condition? Even Weyland would have had some trouble fixing what that queen did to me, if they would even bother spending the money and effort to do so.
I can assume Ripley would have put in a good word, but with her standing with the company, I doubt it would have made any difference.
I suppose this means I should thank you. I may be a synthetic, but that doesn't mean I don't prefer being "alive".

You've foiled their attempts to gain a living specimen twice now. Can't say that will put you in their favor at all.

But I have no use for blessings either way.

[ ........... well, in her world. ]
Oh hai Bishop
I'm supposed to be dead. But, you know how it goes....
Oh hai Hicks
[Messed up as he had been, she could have easily just left him to the explosion. But she'd brought him along with them.]
I've heard things do not end well for us, for all the effort put into our escape. But you seem in good health currently, Corporal, have you seen any of the other marines? This place does seem capable, by some unknown means, to bring the dead back to life.
Quite the fantasy.

[Huh.]
Can't complain, really. I've got my health. I've seen Hudson around - and I know he's supposed to be dead.

There is always room for complaining, but I've found that it doesn't help. Speaking of Hudson that is.

[It's kind of a joke, but there you are.]
Complaining makes you feel better. Maybe. Doesn't fix the problem, though.

[An attempt at joking back. His monotone delivery of things does tend to ruin the effect though.]
No, figuring out how to solve the problem does. But even then that doesn't always work out, not for everyone.

[Hey, Hicks tends to be pretty dry and deadpan himself. But that next bit gives him pause and he frowns.]
No. Not everyone.
[There's a very small exhale.]
But that's life. Right?
no subject
[For good or worse.]
... yes. At least from my observations.
no subject
[Hmm.]
I guess the rest of us just get to be lucky.

To be active. In perfect working condition. Alive is a subjective word for something like us, but it a simple and broad enough word to use when speaking with this human.
