I was actually referring to the fact that you're unsurprised to meet yourself. Most newcomers to Dear Mun aren't informed of the possibilities that exist here, all the better to watch us flail.

Ah. That.

It is the nature of this place that duplicates roam; while "I" may be a newcomer here, Ms. Mundane is not. I am well informed of the circumstance that I would meet another version of me here.

To be frank, to be informed of this beforehand is a bit of a comfort. We at least have each other's back should the need arise.

You imply that she benefits from this... relationship in some way aside from deriving amusement from it.

For one, this will teach her to expand her vocabulary and her sentence structure.

And it will call for a boost of confidence; I am a man of dignity, and I will not stand for my mundane to think ill of her ability in properly playing me if I can help it.

Worthwhile goals indeed. The former in particular is one that more people could stand to pursue; I fear the language may decay at this rate.

She has an odd fascination with wanting to play long-winded muses with a higher vocabulary, an attraction to intelligence that I can at least commend on, however it leads into my second point.

With more experience, she will hopefully grow more comfortable.

Was it like that with you and your mundane?

No, actually; her own case was quite different. While she felt comfortable with her vocabulary and her ability to portray me almost immediately, she found the social factor of this hobby to be intimidating. A combination of her passion for me as a character and her determination not to hide in a small circle of friends forever spurred her to make my original account.

I see. While creating this journal was both an impulse and a desire, mine finds that she has a constant worry of being inadequate.

She tells me that being in your presence is rather frightening.

By contrast, my own finds opportunities such as these to be enlightening. Recall that perfection is a lie -- there is always room to improve, is there not?

And yet we continually strive for perfection in order to unravel the truth in court.

But I concur, we will always be striving towards improvement more and more as each day passes.

You and I both know that it takes more than one person to achieve results as close to perfection as humanly possible. That's as true here as it is in court. At the same time, while we must remain content with being less than perfect, there is still much to be gained from the attempt when one is realistic about it.

"Imperfection is perfection," as the saying goes.

On the subject of that particular revelation, I noticed you mention below that your typist has yet to play the game that represents the span of time during which we came to this realization.

Confirmed. She has barely touched the subsequent sequel of the main series, only having made it to the middle of the first case.

She had bought Investigations while browsing the mall, and bought it then and there. She realizes she will need to continue on, but, as stated earlier, lacks motivation.

Although Mr. Wright below has made mention of several appearances made by us.

Indeed. Our first direct appearance, and arguably the most important one, is during the final case of Justice for All, although several pertinent references to us show up over the course of the game. Our second and third direct appearances are in the final two cases of Trials and Tribulations.

So it seems we play a relatively major role in the subsequent sequels. We meet with Mr. Wright in court, I assume, as members of the prosecution?

That I leave for you to discover for yourself.

I have no preference, as long as there is some sort of law firm there. While others wish to have their castmates at a game, I believe in the opposite.

It isn't as though I dislike having the lot of you around. On the contrary, it would most likely end up being a relief on my part.

However, sometimes one must require a change of scene now and then.

The completion of the game, or finding a suitable home?

Oh--finishing that particular game. No, I have a home at the moment.

Finishing the game was quite the challenge for my mundane. She found it extremely frustrating and stressful, but somehow managed to find enjoyment.

[ Although most of it stemmed from laughing at my moments of misery... ]

What is their progress in the game?

My mun? She's just about smack in the middle of that walking game of yours.

The only reason she keeps at it is the vague possibility of ever being able to understand the sequel.

Ms. Mundane offers her condolences to yours, she has only completed the first game and then completely skipped over the rest to the Investigations, as she found it by chance in the mall one day.

She lacks the motivation to start Justice for All, unfortunately. The vigorous determination she exhibited during Investigations is now gone.

My mun was sorely unimpressed by Justice for All, anyway, but was a big fan of Trials & Tribulations--which was actually the first one she played.

You're in that one quite a lot. Lots of... interesting... scenes.
