You have no idea how weird this is. I'm-- he's eighty-seven years old. That's seventy-one years from now, in the future!

First you keep me behind ten years while everyone else is aged up in this place, and now you let me-- him in that head of yours. Can't you just... agh--can't you just put him... away?

Don't get me wrong, with everyone showing up as they are ... from the future ... this shouldn't even-- I don't know-- be that big of a surprise or weird. But it is! The new Avatar I can handle, the fact that I have a daughter who takes my place as the Fire Lord- not a problem, but this.....................................?

( Defeated sigh. )

( Normally not one to say such SAPPY GUSH WORTHY things-- he does mean it. Just like he meant it when she's so beautiful when she hates the world.

He gently nudges her arm with his elbow. )

[ Mai rubs her arm where he nudges it, but WHAT A NICE, SAPPY THING TO SAY..... so she doesn't seem to mind all that much. ]

( Zuko slips an arm around her shoulders, pulling her in against his side. He's smooth that way. )
