Well, if charming is all it takes, then that should say something to your mundane about him.

Now he was more interesting than the pirate. I was willing to speak with him about more than just flirtatious small talk.

Mine is the same way, unfortunately. It takes some...ah, strong arming? I am not sure if that is the word.
