He's the sheltered one, okay. You all get to be thrown around and stuff and eat your tails and rip off arms and blah blah blah, and he's really okay with that. Just because Huginn and Muninn are with him often doesn't mean they fill him in like they fill in Odin, okay. There is no TV in the stables of Asgard.

And even if there were, it'd be, like, the Weather Channel on repeat. Odin would tell him to watch it so he'd know if he needed to wear a slicker or something. You guys have all the fun, clearly.

He glances, tossing his head slightly. He's still not used to talking, okay, it's so bizarre to have to, so give him a few minutes to think of something to say besides HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?]

A.. place. [ a puzzled blink, because unfortunately, that's all jor knows to say. he sucks at this talking thing. ] We could.. all go there.

[ jor isn't nasty, okay, he's just always hungry. >: but sleipnir is a half-sibling and kind of weird just like he and fenrir and hel, so that makes him okay in jor's book.

as usual, because he's never been around people until recently, there's no actual expression on his face, but his fingers twitch, and he reaches up, touching them to sleipnir's nose. there aren't any horses in the ocean, after all. ]

Oh yeah? [ Still a wolf ~~because I haven't renewed his account yet~~, Fenrir sidles closer, nudging his brother's leg. ] Tell me about it.

[If Odin was here, horse-brother would be completely uncertain of what to do, since usually those who touched him were allowed in by the Allfather. Not really a pet, but...kind of kept like one?

He pulls back slightly at the unexpected touch, only to push back into those fingers, whinnying lowly.

I have never gotten to properly see you before.]

[He stares quietly for a long time.]

Are you sure it is not just another prison?

[ he slinks down, curling his arms around fenrir's neck-- mostly for the warmth. ]

It's.. a place. Like Midgard. [ a pause, blinking, brows drawing together slightly. ] .. After.. Ragnarok?

[ oh. he thinks this is probably strange. ]

Pri-- [ prison. w a i t. he has to think about this. ] .. A better.. prison.

[ He doesn't mind, shifting slightly to nuzzle him a bit more. ]

Huh. That's... huh. [ He's not too sure how he feels about it being like Midgard after Ragnarok, but... ] Could be interesting.

[ jor jerks back in surprise at the push of sleipnir's head, but then he eases close again, smoothing his palm up his brother's brow. ]

I.. live on M-Midgard. Allfa-- All.. father.. probably expected me to-- Die? To die.

[His eyes narrow.]

But still a prison.

B-- Better than separation. I think. Quiet. Maybe.. Maybe we won't.. be monsters there.

[ after a moment, he remembers that fenrir likes being patted, so his hands slide up to rub at his older brother's ears. ]

There's a.. a version of.. Father there. Different. He.. wanted us.

[He makes another sound, this one of contentment at the touch of the family member that should be snake. His eyelids close halfway, giving him a rather drowsy look.

Why would he expect that?]

.. I was.. a ba-- baby? An.. infant. When I was.. discarded.

It won't matter if we are.

[ There's a growl in his voice, protective instincts flaring. If they -- whoever 'they' are -- think his siblings are monsters, he'll protect them. Then his brother rubs at his ears, however, and his growl eases out into a bit of a snuffle at Jor's chest. ]

That'd be a nice change.

[He tilts his head, considering this.

Self, you have a point.

It's true, the sun is nice.

[A snort, confused this time. Incapable of understanding. Discarded? Why would he do that? It was Loki who discarded him to Odin, it was Odin who took him in and raised him and trained him. How could his rider do that when he'd taken in Sleipnir himself?

[ he twitches at the snuffle, relaxing slowly against fenrir as his fingers move. ]

Y-Yes. I.. would like to.. know Father.

.. I.. do not know. [ a hesitant pat to sleipnir's nose. ] Fenrir and.. Hel and I.. were-- were-- unwa..nted? Unwanted. Unneeded.

[ Careful not to disturb him, the wolf shifts slightly, trying to curl around his brother. ]

Yeah. It's been a long time, hasn't it?

[Why have all his half-siblings gotten such a terrible shaft in life while he's been fed and pampered and told nothing but sweet things?

This is all news to him, all horrifying, he can't even begin to understand it...

[Yes, that would be... acceptable.

It probably would make Mayfield... better. Having Loki there hadn't helped much but that was probably because Thor and Baldr were there at the same time.

He nods slightly.]

[Consider Hel's interest peaked.]

[Sigyn clasps her hands together near her heart, a sullen look coming over her features.] That's no state for a boy to be in. Come here, I-- [She pushes back her cloak, putting out her hands.] Let me cast a nice warming spell. If you'd like, that is.

[ he shifts to let him, eyelids drooping slightly as he soaks up fenrir's body-heat. ]

That-- That Father. There. He.. might l-love us.

[ a stiff, half-panicked shake of his head, his other hand clutching at sleipnir's mane, yellow-green eyes wide in his face. ]

N-No. No. No, no, no, n-no, bro-- brother.

[ somehow, despite his apparent inability to create proper facial expressions, he still gives off the impression of being suspicious at the offer. given how much asgardians hate and fear he and his siblings, though, it's probably no wonder. ]

I.. am. M-Monster. [ a reminder, because he's been told what he is so often that it's one of the basic truths of his understanding. ]

[Fear not, Jory! For Sigyn is Vanir, and she's got as much suspicion of Asgardians as you. Maybe more so. She shakes her head at his thought of being a monster.]

[ he looks extremely overwhelmed by this notion, fingers twitching slightly at his sides, swaying faintly as if he's only just barely holding onto this shape. ]

[The hand in his mane lets him know immediately that something in what he said was wrong, although he doesn't immediately know what. He extends his muzzle to move against his half-brother's cheek, shoulder, ruffle his hair.

[ another stiff shake of his head, holding carefully still for the nose against his hair, blinking in something like surprise at the gesture. ]
