To say that the actions of Kotomine Kirei and Archer were unexpected would be a lie. I knew full well the possibility of their betrayal. I should have kept my eye closer upon Kirei, however. That was my mistake.
What of my wife and child? [A moment of silence while the mun clues Tokiomi in.] ...I see. Do not feel bad for me, mundane. Aoi knew the life that she would be leading as the wife of a Magus, and that includes the dangers one must brave through. [What Tokiomi isn't saying outright, however, is the seething hatred he has toward Kariya for him being the one to cause it.] Though, I am a bit confused as to why you choose to withhold information of my daughter. I am sure she has grown into a fine Magus in my stead, and has honored the Tohsaka name as she was destined to.
...I am sure I will be able to see firsthand how my daughter has turned out when you have placed me in this Mayfield town. I am not going to reprimand you for the loss of my Magus abilities, and my inevitable place as a normal human. Tohsaka Rin is the current head and proper successor of the Tohsaka bloodline, and I am content in watching my daughter from the sidelines.
