Especially if one of them takes it into their heads to make it a surprise party. And depending on when Helios decides to admit what happened over Valentine's Day. To say nothing of all the people who I know fully well are hoping for a chance to shout at me or, um, smack me. Or hit me. In some cases, probably hard enough to knock me unconscious. And, with my luck, I'll probably be tossed at one or two individuals who wouldn't mind another chance at attempting to murder me, just for the flavor, and I don't just mean Drusilla.

Still. Um...it will be nice to see Willow, again. That's...something. Still as far ahead as ever, of course, but...well, you know how it is. I can at least make that work to my advantage, this time. And I most certainly intend to.

As for the other place...all right, fine, it's a shame about the train, but you do recall that having me in two places at once never works out, yes? I don't care how much the three of you are amused by it. We would not do well in a medieval setting. They stoned people like us to death, back then.

...but, we'd, we'd be able to remember one another? Helios, a-and Ginia, and I? Fine. I, um, I suppose my tastes towards weaponry, fighting style, and reading material might finally be relevant. I can only imagine how much that news might amuse Buffy.

And I hope the fact that I very strongly protest being made a ghost is assumed. In other words, I would hope you would know better than to, um, make me argue that point with you. I don't care if it sounds interesting. Things that, um, sound interesting to you rarely end well for either of us.

It depends. Are thorns on Midgard at all predisposed to consuming flesh and bone?

"Consume", no...well, apart from the way plants break down and consume any sort of dead thing. But I'm sure that, um, isn't what you're referring to. They can tear well enough, of course.

Looks like Giles really will never escape Sunnydale, even though it's been long since buried beneath the Earth.] I've, um, I've met people who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge a very great variety of things that go bump in the night.

Sentient plants is a bit of a new one on me, of course. Unless the sentience is, um, coming from elsewhere entirely.

Excellent. [He all but beams, at this.] We have a surplus of those, if you ever want to drop by. I, um, I think you'd be right at home. [Just explain the costume by telling them you're going to a science fiction convention.]

Why not? In, um, in my experience, giving sentience...especially prolonged sentience...to something that doesn't normally have it is, um, far more complicated than just controlling matter and instinct.

I dislike your world. Something in the smell of it is caught in a synthetic sort of life. [Hmm.] But I do enjoy killing things.

Many of our numbers have tried to speak with the thorns. Some have been successful.

[Still. A half shrug, and then Sif and the problem at hand have his full attention, again.] Successful to the point of, um, learning something about the thorns?

I wouldn't expect you to. [She doesn't mean anything by it, and her tone is tinged more with observation than intended insult. The same way that fish don't think of breathing underwater, those who live on Midgard don't recognize that it is crumbling. That they breathe in remnants.]

"A series of curses". [Giles grumbles in frustration, taking off his glasses to massage his temples in light of the frustration headache he can feel building up.] It's always that, isn't it? The, the little distractions just, just build and build, a-and suddenly you're cramming for the end of the world.

[He's still just a bit bitter about that.]

In the past two weeks, I’ve been gutted by a hippogryph, attempted to murder the king in open court at the behest of a curse, and been forced to go around breaking the curses that others have been placed under by the most ridiculous means.

Experience with curses, monsters, and encroaching forces of darkness bent on slaughtering the populace? Oh, yes.
