Wondering how Audrey would go in a game
Looking at games? Already? Wow, here I thought I was just an impulse muse, but you're actually getting serious! This is awesome! Can the game have butterfly milk and truffula trees? And will Ted be there, too? Gosh, think of all the stuff to see, mun! Trees! Real, living, breathing trees! And flowers, too! With real bees--
Mun, I want to get stung by a bee. Or a wasp. Something. I know it must sound really weird, like I'm into pain or something, but I swear I'm not, I just want to know what it's like. Is it quick, does it ache? I've got so many questions, mun. Questions I've only ever dreamed about answering.
This is so cool, I could kiss you right now!

i'm at jarjammed, but apps close for a while... tomorrow, i think? maybe today ;n;
Then I shall wait in the shadows. Like Batman.
you are the night! it is you.
[An evaluative look, then he smiles in amusement.]
Which is pretty rare. I like that.
how did you knoooooow?
[She grins, giggling at her own joke.]
Anyway, if I am allergic to bees, you'll help me out if something goes wrong, right?
because... i am a secret super sleuth! what a great team we make
Uh - of course! ...Just don't go getting stung deliberately, alright?
we should become extremely stylish vigilantes
And if I did get stung deliberately?
[Screw it, she'd rather experience something new than worry about possible allergies.]
do we have to wear our underwear on the outside :(
I can't stop you.
only during boss fights
[WELP. NO INNUENDO THERE.]
Come on, cheer up, Once-ler. I'll be fine. Trust me, okay?
glorious.
...Well, if you say so, kiddo. I mean, it's only a bee sting. [Pause.] How bad could it be?

I'm not a kid. I'm a young lady. [She fiddles with a piece of her hair.] And I'll be a grown woman in a month or two, so I'm sure I can handle a little bee sting. [It's odd. Being around Once-ler wants her wish she was already eighteen. Something about adult men only ever wanting to date adult women, or something silly like that.]

[There's something about Audrey that is making him wish he were a little younger. Or at least maybe that he didn't spend the better part of his life so far under the iron rule of his mother.]
no subject
[The mildly annoyed scowl on her face slips away, being replaced with a soft smile as she takes Once-ler's hand, interlacing their fingers.]
You should visit, you know. Come and ignore 'grown-up land' with me.
no subject
[Gingerly frees his fingers and kind of nudges her hands back towards herself. At least he's still wearing his gloves.]

The other you is a lot more affectionate. Not that I mind if you're all, you know, grumpy and old. It's kind of adorable.
oops codefail
Affectionate. [He doesn't sound very convinced.] Right. Well - yeah, I dunno, maybe I just have a really good reason not to be.
I'm pretty sure you know what that reason is, if you're from the future, and all.
no subject
[She smiles tiredly, and apologetic tinge in her eyes.]
I was messing around. Sorry, okay?
no subject
No - it's not -
Why aren't you angry with me?
no subject
Why would I be? You didn't do anything wrong.
if i don't stop codefailing so hard i swear to god
Don't. Don't say something like that, you have no idea. I singlehandedly turned a paradise into a wasteland. And now you have to live with my mistake. How can you possibly say I didn't do anything wrong?
it can be your superpower. use it for good!
I hate your actions, not you. I hate that you cut down all the trees, but, even if you aren't doing it now, in the future, you'll make things right. You did something wrong, something really, really bad, but it doesn't make me hate you.
omg.
[Yeah he's really not sure what to say to that. But it's definitely done something to him.]
you can save the world. just imagine it
...Well. What do you say to that?
i am.... the html bandit!!! correcting code for the greater good
[Ma never liked him stuttering. The posture could do with a fix, too, and he makes the effort to stand up straight.]
...I guess I say thank you. I don't know if I believe you, but thank you.
and i am the obligatory love interest who will eventually turn evil
[Usually, Audrey would be a little bothed by the lack of trust, but she's noticed there's something a little off about Once-ler. Something that shows it'll take time to make him happy.]
I wouldn't say it if I didn't believe it. Besides, I don't get anything out of saying something nice. I'm doing it because it's what I honestly believe.
oh no! i correct your html one last time as i hang over a pit of sharks and sweep you off your feet
I'm not making any more promises I can't keep.
[He hesitates, then holds out his hand.]
But I feel a little less iffy about trying, 'n' that's cool, so...
oh bby! i'm sorry i ever betrayed yooooooou~
Even if you don't promise, I know you'll do the right thing.
forgiven, babes. *dons sunglasses, jetpacks out, credits roll, nic cage was probably in it*
I'm glad at least one of us is sure. [Forces a smile.] But there's no harm in giving it my best shot.
be careful using lord cage's name. every time it's said, he grows more powerful
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not. [Her smile softens.] I think you know what I'm talking about, right?
1/2 i heard if you say his name into a mirror three times at midnight
2/2 you lose all ability to convincingly have emotions
[He turns away and takes a deep breath.] I should be going.
I'm glad we talked, Audrey. I think I needed that.
don't try to tell me the wicker man remake wasn't a masterpiece of emotion. you know it was
[Superquickhug.]
Sorry. I know you don't like being touched, but it's hard to resist.
it will take the golden pedestal beside con air and drive angry
[Flinches a bit, then... looks a little disappointed as she pulls away?]
Oh, that's
that's fine
thank you
[Smiles very quickly and backs away for a few steps to wave at her awkwardly before turning and heading away.]

I do work with real flowers, though. And I've got a greenhouse there.
no subject
What are they like? Do they smell like butterfly milk?
no subject
Not... quite? I don't even know what butterfly milk smells like in the first place.
[He holds his hands up.] But, look. If your mun decides on Ink City, I promise to show you around the greenhouse, and you can spend all the time you want in there.
