Canon is Twin Peaks
Mundane,
I believe there is a time and a place for just about anything. A cup of coffee. A hike in the woods. Arresting a suspect in a crime. Even jumping from one reality to another. While I am aware of why my services will benefit this Library, you may want to reconsider the state of my person when I arrive. Immediately after being shot three times and receiving several broken ribs, I will not be in the best condition to aide these fine people in repairing their library.

[Akira doesn't quite have that problem, in two ways, but he's at least sympathetic for those that do.]
Dunno why she'd wanna bring you in like that anyway. Ain't like they can do much with us when we're that bad hurt.

As for the safety of such a place, do not be mislead. While it does house a great number of books, I am told it also hosts a number of creatures than can only be described as monsters.

Trust me on this one. No good'll come of it.

I have to agree you at least, you don't wanna show up there shot to shit. We don't have anyone that can really heal you once you get there either.
Your mun's a sadistic one, wantin' to send you here when you're like that.

That's good to know. Perhaps I could at least convince her to adjust the time frame by just a few moments. Even if it were to be the moment after the trigger is pulled, before the bullets make contact. That would make for a rather jarring re-entry, but will serve me better in the long run.

Yeah, I think that'd freak me the fuck out, but it'd be better than havin' to get emergency first aid in the middle of a dusty library and no hospital.

Not only that, but in being in such a state of existence, I am aware of things that I will never have the chance to know again. Not only am I able to perceive the course my own life will take, up to a certain point, but also the state of the world as a whole.
There is much that can change within two decades. For both good and bad. This is not an area I should look into, even if I will not remember it for long. It is a path that can only lead to sadness.

But that is not the only reality in which I am mere fiction. This knowledge causes a great deal of psychic dissonance that leaves me rather uncomfortable. Think I would be better suited to investigating realities in physically or mentally inhabit.

There are, however, signs that intelligence still does exist. I will continue my investigations into this area. There must be something of merit within something so vast.
