[He goes to grab her wrist, and luckily his quick. Well, kinda. He still got his reflexes, just a little shaky.]

Why you go and do that, kid?

[Re-l pulls her hand away at once, slightly surprised at how much effort it takes. For someone so slovenly, Haymitch is strong. She sets her hands defensively across her chest, stepping back in case she needs to strike or pull her gun.]

It was an accident, of course. [She tosses her hair over her shoulder.] Or are you so drunk that your vision is blurring. Besides, it was only alcohol.

I know an accident when I see one, and that wasn't an accident. I'm not messing with anything you have, so why you're messing with mine?

[She's trapped now, and suddenly, in spite of her anger, she feels a little guilty.]

I was annoyed. Iggy would have scolded me, if he were still here. I've always been used to getting my own way, and so I can be selfish.

[She sighs.]

Can I get you another drink?

I'm not gonna say no.

Haymitch. [Yup, that's the introduction you're getting from him.]

[she drops a tumblr of whiskey into his hand, taking a much smaller one for herself, which she sips slowly, as though it might poison her.]

[She shifts a bit, and looks at him sideways.]

So, what's your story?

Re-l? Interesting name you got there.

But my story isn't important, so let's skip over it. You?

Is it? Haymitch sounds pretty odd to me.

[She shrugs. She'd never thought about it that way, although it's true that most of the people she's met here have a different kind of name.]

I don't even know where to begin. Everything here is so different. The world I come from was dark and cold, a sunless place for centuries. The Proxies built us, and the domes. Not that I knew any of that. I spent most of my life in Romdeau thinking it was the only place to be. Warm, safe, totally cared for. And then Vincent showed up and everything changed.

[She pauses, but it's good to let this out. She hasn't talked about it to anyone, and she's still processing herself.]

No, maybe that's not right. The world was always dangerous. We just lied to ourselves.

Romdeau is gone, now. Proxy One saw to that. And Deadalus. Almost everywhere is gone.

[She waves her hand to shake off her thoughts.]

I don't know how things will turn out, but Vincent is there, and the Arks were coming back with the sun, so maybe things will change for the better.

The government always lies, kid. Sorry ya had to learn it that way though.

Your world seems familiar though. Sounds kinda like mine. Government controlling, but can't say there's peace.
