[As much as every single nerve-ending protests the hug... something inside overrides it. His complete tensing at the initial touch fades away to a relaxed state as he sighs and puts his hand on Goku's head.]

[He understands Goku's loneliness easily enough... not that he would ever admit it. It was why he'd vowed to never again love someone so much he couldn't bear to lose them...]

That touch on his head is very much appreciated. This man... he looked so much like Konzen, and even touched him the same way.]

They're strong... they gotta be okay.

[He hopes so. People said that time stopped when they arrived in Paradisa, but Goku remembers them running from all the soldiers because... because of something he'd done, but he no longer could what remember thanks to the castle.]

[Sanzo says nothing, only continuing to hold Goku. It was like that time he'd been away from the temple. Goku had been so terrified of being left alone he'd gone berserk... he'd said something about being left behind again. Without realizing it, his grip on Goku might get a little more tight but not painful, just as if the thought of knowing Goku was without those he cared about hurt him too.]

So long as you're strong, Goku, they will be strong as well.

[He glances up at the man at that, still quite amazed that he was so similar to Konzen. He frowned more, that was all. Sniffling, he rubs away a few tears with the arm of his way-too-big shirt and sighs.]
