Am I going to be away for long at this place? Because if my parents think that I was kidnapped too that would be so embarrassing!

Do they at least have any nice shops? Not that it matters, since I don't even have any money anyway. You know that's what you should be working on instead: convincing all our parents to let us work again. Do you know I haven't been able to buy a new top in a month? If this keeps up, I'm going to end up being one of those people who are always wearing the same outfit, every single day. I'd just die.

Not to mention, if my soul's going to turn into a flamingo, then I'm going to need to change my entire wardrobe. I can't possibly co-ordinate just with what I have now!

You never said that they'd pay us! How much will we make? Will it be enough to cover my new sundress? And maybe I could get nice a new pair of sunglasses as well...

...and anyway, who says we can't get paid to shop? You know mystery shoppers can make really good money. And they must have things like fashion shows and modeling shoots in other worlds too.

Nope. I said it was work; getting money will have to come from the worlds we go to. What the Company offers is opportunity.

You're not working for free; you get the right to keep the PHS and go to other worlds in return. Then you organise working for people from those worlds, see?

That sounds like way too much work. Can't we just get Liz to organise the jobs for us?

[nickers]

Oh, sure. 'Hey, Liz, I know you were worried about what your parents would think if you got shoved through into another universe, but Richelle's worried about having time to do her nails. Care to come by and arrange our jobs for us anyway?'

I don't see why not - Liz wants to work too you know! And you know how important it is that I have time to look after my nails.

But if you're that determined, you can go organise jobs. I'm not going to go wondering off to dangerous worlds where we have to find our own jobs.

[nickers]

She wants to make sure her parents don't go nuts even more.

I intend to. Unlike in Raven Hill, we're going to have to build our reputation all over again. Just don't mess it up.

And how are you going to get a reputation in lots of different worlds? There's too many people. You'd have to be a celebrity to do it.

Do they have celebrities in other worlds? Maybe if there's someone who needs an actress, or a model...

[nickers]

Easy. I'll go to lots of different worlds and use those who come through as liaisons.

They probably have enough of their own starving young blondes.

[glampuss]

That's if they're real blondes. A lot of people dye it you know. Or worse, use bleach.
