Is your mun likely to get over being hung up on details?

Probably. This is new for her and she wants to get everything right. Once she feels more comfortable, I'm sure she'll come around.

That's good. She should be fine if she doesn't rush into anything too big for her.

There's not much chance of that happening. Mun's already been in some pretty big games before. We're going to take it nice and slow this time around.

What about you? You headed anywhere?

My mun's never been in a big game.

I'm just in a couple small ones. [Small is an understatement for one. Itty bitty would be closer.]

Nothing wrong with that.

In fact, some of my player's favorite moments have been in smaller games. She says they feel more like a community or a group of friends all having fun together. No one gets lost in the crowd.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. It's just really slow most of the time. Gives my mun too much time to think up horrible things.

At least one of them is home instead of some weird place. [Not that her home isn't weird.]

More of that, huh? ["Horrible things"] I'm sorry to hear it.

That's the nice thing about them, though. Makes it easy to keep up. And you're lucky. Not many of us can say we have a place to call home around here.

At least she favors awkward over dangerous. [She's not even sure she prefers the awkward.]

Mun likes being able to keep track of everything I guess... But Daear being home just means mom is around to make my new friends nervous. [The original version of her is in a couple games and she was given a slightly different AU just to fit in as a native to the setting of another.]

I think I'd prefer awkward to dangerous, too. It's when players decide to mix them together that it gets tricky.

Makes sense. But at least you have your mother around to take care of you.

A lot of muns seem to like mixing them though. Mine hasn't really tried lately but, she has before.

Mom does take care of me... Some people say she needs to let me take care of myself more though.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I was the only one of our friends she's picked up. But what I meant was this is the first time we've met since she started the game, so it feels almost like a reunion.

Bored. Having a mun is worse than being stuck in the manor! [ Luke is used to the scrutiny and strange looks; that's what happens when you (usually) only act like a decent person after a haircut. Among other things. So! Just smiling wryly for now. ]

Gotcha. But depending on what she has in mind, I'm not sure I would be too thrilled at this reunion. They have some creepy ass places out there made specifically to torment us.

Hah hah. Come on, it can't be all that bad, can it? I mean, at least your player hasn't placed you under house arrest. Besides, I hear there are some interesting places to visit.

[Well, you're in one piece! That's a start. Guy crosses his arms and leans back casually against whatever exists in the void that is Nexusland.]

That's pretty much what it is! No matter how loud I complain, she never takes the initiative about getting me out to see any of my friends. I'd still be twiddling my thumbs if you hadn't showed up.

[ Only you would consider visiting post-apocalyptic worlds or spaceships to be a vacation... ~~It's all for the fontech, isn't it.~~ The sigh Luke gives is more put-on than not. Not even talk of crazy mundanes can dull the excitement of seeing Guy again. ]

A point for her, then. You wouldn't believe how many of them think it's "fun" to put us in danger.

Guess I should make a point to hang out more often. We can't have you moping around with nothing to do, now can we? [He's teasing, although it is a concern because his next question sounds serious.] Do you want me to talk to her?

[ ~~True. Some of those places would be heaven for a machine geek like him.~~ A vacation sounds rather nice to the redhead right now. Anything to mix of the sheer monotony of it all. ]

Like that's ever stopped them before. They might not mean to be jerks, but they can get so wrapped up in the moment that they forget to think.

[He'll just grin at you. Knowingly. Just like you didn't mope around for weeks after *** was defeated the first time, right Luke?] Lonely, huh? Yeah, I guess it is kind of quiet around. We'll have to work on that.

[Strange. Why are you so nervous all of a sudden?] That's nothing new. I've had plenty of practice trying to convince you to eat your vegetables. I think I can handle it.

[ You would be amazed at how much there is to discover in a ceiling or wall once you give it due consideration. Not for lack of trying! ~~Stick-up-the-ass syndrome must run in family.~~ There's that dismissing wave of the hand Luke is fond of, this time to clear out the gloom. ] Augh, whatever! I'm just glad I won't have to haul your butt off the ground from girl cooties. [ Joking~ Mostly. Both hands get clasped behind Luke's head with an uncertain laugh. Some details aren't the best for dropping out of nowhere without warning. ] Oh, you know. A little of this, a little of that... But it's been a while since I really got the chance to do more than chat. Doubt you want to hear about boring day-to-day crap.

[ Well okay, if it doesn't talk or bounce after you going "Maaaaster~" then it'll work. Maybe even a snow globe or postcard! ]

Hey, I've gotten a lot better! [No thanks to certain members of the party.] Besides, if they hear you talking like that, you might hurt their feelings, Luke. [Or give them ideas. Guy spends a moment adjusting his glove, half expecting women to suddenly pop out of nowhere. Okay, so he hasn't gotten that much better.]

Oh, I don't know. Try me. It's not like I haven't listened to you talk about day-to-day life for the past seven years. It's got to be more interesting than me recounting the goings-on in Mun's headspace.

Not really. Sure, it'd be stupid to rush headfirst into something. But if Mun's so caught up thinking about it she never takes the first step, that's no good either.

Sure, if that's how you really feel.

You like to cover up your real feelings with a lot of idealism.

And logic in this case. That much fear really is wasteful on their part.

That's an interesting argument coming from someone who claims to have gained nothing since the moment he was born.

I wouldn't say that, either. It was my decision to stay with Luke and the others. I'm not about to let my past get in the way of the here and now, not when there are people who need me.
