Oh dear, I can't imagine why you'd even think of putting me into one of your little games as a villain! Like one of the dark-dressed gentlemen you see in Junior's scary pictures-- how could anyone ever mistake me for one of them!

this is fantastic.
;u;
And you're far too young to be so cynical!

You're still far too young for it, I think. [this calls for drastic measures] Would you like some cookies, dear?
no subject
[He's considering that offer, quite heavily, as a matter of fact...]
Mm, I do like cookies.
*yes.*
[He may look like a scruffy hooligan, but Pink has a soft spot for old ladies, okay.]
They get confused 'bout sh - that sort of thing, sometimes, I've found.
If you're going to the place I think you are, though, ma'am, I'd be happy to help you around, an' vouch for you.

That's very kind of you, dear. It seems like I'll need all the help I can get, since it doesn't seem like Martha is coming along with me. It all seems so terribly unfair: First, they want to label me as some sort of- of no-good person, and now they're separating sisters! I don't think I'll like this place very much at all!

You meet new people, at least. Though it doesn't all make up for it.

Yes, that does sound rather nice. I'm not able to get out of Brooklyn very much, at my age, so it'll be a change of pace... I'm not sure how I feel about meeting villains, however!

I'm getting on alright. Made some friends, and I met a nice girl here, so maybe something'll come of that. Or not. It's not as bad as it could be, either way. [smile?]
There's actually a Brooklyn in the City. Though a few years on, I expect, from when you know it? Got myself a nice flat there.
Honestly? Some of them? Ain't all that bad. They're just up to their business, and not everyone understands it. Even the really bad ones, it ain't so hard to keep out of the way of. Just being polite does most of the work.

Is there? Oh, I probably won't recognize a thing-- a hundred years can do that to a place, I suppose. I have quite a bit of catching up to do.
... Well, I still don't like it. They oughtn't let such people just go out and about like that!

[sympathetic nod] It's an adjustment. It's been one for me, and all I've got is about forty years to catch up on. Whole lot of fantastic conveniences, though, sprung up in the past hundred years. Refrigerators. Telly. Computers.
[Not gonna argue. May, in fact, be incapable of arguing with older women.
Biggest momma's boy ever? Maybe.] I think they'd stop 'em if they could. But the police here -- um. They ain't as good as they could be. Honestly.
