badassnormal: (Achilles's right hand man)

On his usual representation in the media

I know Achilles tends to get offended by the whole thing, but is it terrible that I just find it funny?

Try to imagine it, the 'doe-eyed pretty-boy lover of Achilles' who was also rocking stubble and able to fit into his armor perfectly, fought like him, and had a kill score only bested by him. It's pretty hilarious. Though I did always think of my eyes as rather 'soulful' if I do say so myself... still, I think we can leave the 'pretty boy' part of that to him. But, you didn't hear it from me.

It's like they can't fathom the idea of a man that takes it and handles the domestic chores while still being, well, a man and not passing for a kouros.

Not that I can get too upset about it. Let's face it, it baffled the shit out of Homer, too.

Everyone is always talking about this Homer. He seems to be a fool.

What's the point of telling a story if you don't tell it correctly? It's just a waste of everyone's time.

I've spent my whole life striving not to be one man's entertainment. I don't much like being entertainment for generations of these...readers.

How do you tolerate it?

It's comforting to know that at least some of you Greeks had something besides air between your ears.
cassie_of_troy: (Amused)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-29 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
No. That was just Paris, really.
cassie_of_troy: (Angry)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-29 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Well. No offense to your cousin, but I'm rather glad he's dead.
cassie_of_troy: (Annoyed)

Oh, who am I going to tell? Artemis and Apollo? They already know.
cassie_of_troy: (Happy)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-29 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
They're trapped with me in Bete Noire.

It's quite entertaining to watch them trying to adjust to things like bathing.

That's foolish. Why would I want anything to do with Achilles?
cassie_of_troy: (Satisfied)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-31 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. That would have been a pleasure to see.
cassie_of_troy: (Confused)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-31 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Some kind of worldwalking...thing?
cassie_of_troy: (Entranced)

Revenge is a human failing. Wouldn't be difficult at all.
cassie_of_troy: (Annoyed)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-31 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I don't give them much credit. I just think we ought to be better than them.
cassie_of_troy: (Tired)

[personal profile] cassie_of_troy 2012-03-31 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Well. Paris has that impact.

[personal profile] achaeanstrings 2012-03-29 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair, cousin, it baffled a good portion of the Spartan camp as well. Though gods only know why, the things I heard about Menelaus' retinue.

[personal profile] achaeanstrings 2012-03-29 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you sure it's not just that Spartans complicate things?

[personal profile] achaeanstrings 2012-03-30 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
That it does. I've yet to meet one who hasn't warranted an arrow through some left body part or another. You-know-who included.

It's what happens when Athens gets all the smart ones.

So uh, it might be kind of my fault. Just a little bit.
miscreantics: (gatekeeper)

[personal profile] miscreantics 2012-03-31 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Completely intentional, but it was definitely more of a jab at Achilles than you. Woops.
miscreantics: (Good || superiority)

Anyone that Apollo likes should just be prepared for mockery.
