I know Achilles tends to get offended by the whole thing, but is it terrible that I just find it funny?

Try to imagine it, the 'doe-eyed pretty-boy lover of Achilles' who was also rocking stubble and able to fit into his armor perfectly, fought like him, and had a kill score only bested by him. It's pretty hilarious. Though I did always think of my eyes as rather 'soulful' if I do say so myself... still, I think we can leave the 'pretty boy' part of that to him. But, you didn't hear it from me.

It's like they can't fathom the idea of a man that takes it and handles the domestic chores while still being, well, a man and not passing for a kouros.

Not that I can get too upset about it. Let's face it, it baffled the shit out of Homer, too.

Oh, he was a brilliant poet, they all were. It's because of them that people still know we even existed. Like all works though it was colored with his own opinions. He seemed to have a terrible thing against women, too. A bit suspicious if you ask me.

If the difference is between existing and not existing, I think even Gilgamesh can be thankful for them developing writing to tell his story, even if it is a written version of a story that had been told verbally for generations.

I was in a similar situation a while back. Artemis was there too, but it was Apollo I spoke with more... well, when I had to. We didn't exactly get along. I think part of it was also he was upset that the Cassandra I knew there preferred the company of Achilles to him.

The way I heard it, there was quite some time when they were the only two mortals among gods turned mortal. Guess they had time to work out their differences.

If only. No, a punishment by some of the Titans. Gods were stricken of their powers and thrown to earth, and apparently to make sure they felt punished enough they revived some of us mortals as well to give them hell on a more even playing field.

Of course there's only so many members of the (second) Trojan War you can bring back before you start another.
