So you are returning me to the Nexus huh? Not a bad idea given dealing with the creepy crawlies of that place is kind of a family thing anyway. It would be nice to see Mari again...and grandad. And Uncle Sam too and Cas...I did miss Cas. You never realize how handy it is to have an angel around when you are dealing with demons on your own and you keep dying over and over.

I know I kind of let the family go for a bit, but with Winchesters blood is always thicker than water right?

[Jack smiles his body language open and honest as he nods.]

I did...I knew you too Cloud...or possibly a version of you. The Nexus can be funny like that pulling people in and out and back in again.

[!! After having already heard about another him arriving with his friends in Mari's world for all too brief a time, she had told him of having met up with an alternate version of himself, who shared his mind and body with a demon.

A brief startled expression appears, then passes as he goes back to being guarded. Who the hell is this guy...]

I already found that the Nexus was weird, but I wouldn't have any idea of it being that weird.

And I'd rather not know how many more look-alikes of me are out there.

[Not only would his head otherwise implode. The young girl he adopted would be very confused over them if she knew.]

[Jack chuckles, but it's a quiet sound with no real humor behind it. He seems very used to this situation and almost saddened by it.]

I don't think you've scratched the surface on how weird the Nexus can get. Hell I haven't and I was able to talk to her.

I only knew one of you...and he was a decent guy so I wouldn't worry too much.

[If he'd think of me as decent... It's probably safe to assess this man as not a threat.

He's visibly uncomfortable though as he shifts his weight in where he stands. The looming weird stuff is bothersome. He'll want to be ever more watchful and protective over Mari and Nana.

He would know more than I do, it seems. So...]

Who are you? Who is your grandfather?

[Jack smiles again.]

The name I use now is Jack Harkness, my given name is John Winchester.

You may or may not know my grandfather Dean Winchester. He's been in the Nexus too.

[He's related to Dean? Cloud hasn't had the chance to meet this man in person yet. He's starting to picture him as a very old man. That's what his reasoning silently decides.]

I only know about Dean and his brother Sam from what Mari told me about them. We haven't seen them over there, but they and Mari had first met someplace else. Another world she has been to often.

[He pauses, and recalls how troubled and stressed Mari was as she went over with him about the entire encounter.]

She's said that they knew an alternate of herself that they knew very well. They had been very close, and had formed a family type of bond.

[His eyes lower as he remembers more details that were explained to him.]

This other Mari wasn't any different from who I know, apart from different situations that happened.

That's the multiverse for you, a big ball of yarn that never really straightens out no matter how much you might want it to.

{Jack's words come across as deeply amused somehow.]

I met that Sam and Dean too I think...or my uncle met that Sam things got weird on the islands.

Mari is a favorite of hers...she's always going to be around the Nexus.

And the multiverse tends to overwhelm at times.

[Cloud sounds annoyed. Islands?

No, he'll ask about that some other time. He has all these concerns in mind over both Mari and Nana, the two he left to stay together to go help someone.]

Are you trying to say this world's sentience likes her? [He follows up with a more urgent question.] Does that mean she'll be safe there? Completely?

[He's only semi-certain that what he did is the right decision--to have her stay put with Nana while he'd do world traveling errands for her.]

[Jack's voice is heavy with sadness.]

Yes I am...I'm one of her favorites too...she will do what she can to help those who cannot protect themselves.

[He'll choose to stick with what he already knows. To what he's noticed, none of them had been in danger since the Mari, Nana, and Cloud have known each other, and spent time together.

Nana doesn't like teleporting when it comes to any traveling with that device Mari has, and it wouldn't have been right to leave her as the only resident within Nexus.]

Then I shouldn't doubt it. The choice I made... I left her with Nana while I'm doing other world business in her place.

[If Nexus likes Mari so much, then they won't have to worry about her being gone.]
