[On providing information]
There, you see? You should have listened to me to begin with! Using the only 'official' bit of canon is the proper thing to do with me.
Besides, you love angst! Look at all the pain and suffering I get to have now: Mine plus all of the horrendous things the Master did!
And of course you needed to provide that level of detail. No one knows who I am. This way they can at least get an idea before contacting me completely blind to anything.
And that other idea of yours? Of course I love it! Why wouldn't I? It puts all the focus on me, which is where it should be!
You know, I don't even think I need to drink tonight.

Brigadier! How delighted I am to see you.
[He gestures to the writer.]
It took weeks to get them to listen to me, but it's getting better now.

even though his writer is rustier than a Dalek at the bottom of the Thames]It's pleasant to see you, Doctor. I haven't had much to do with this incarnation of yours, but you've always been persistent.

Persistent? What an interesting word to use to describe me. I might borrow that. Last time I was around, it was 2003. I thought you had been retired well and good.
[He doesn't mean dead, just not as interested in UNIT any more.]
Actually, given the global nature of the Shalka, I'm surprised they didn't call you in. Things probably would have run smoother if they had.
[Would rather be rusty, than questioning if the voice is there at all.]

I have other, less complimentary words.
Ah. Yes. This place, here, this... 'community', for want of a better word - it's complicated in terms of time, isn't it. I suspect you could explain that with far more syllables than I. In my time, I'm still active.
I've read the reports.
[Writer has read the novelisation, and was delighted to see you here.]
Sounded like a nasty business.
[...and that is appreciated!]

I have no doubt you do. I think I've even heard you use one or two of them over the years.
[Sadly, this writer can't get the novel and is limited to the video alone.]
Well, it certainly could have been a lot worse. But once I understood them, it was fairly easy.
[Even killing all of them was all too easy, once he understood who they were.]

[This one hasn't been able to find a free copy online without a download, but it's available on Google Play if that's helpful]
Mm? Sound-based, correct? It's been a while since I read the documentation, and there's always so much left out of the reports.

It depends on the regeneration. Each one seems to view you differently.
[Well, at least he can be honest about it.]
Sonic resonance would be more accurate. But if Graves had a hand in writing the report, I wouldn't be surprised that's how it was presented.
[ooc: Good to know, but not helpful as I don't have it. I haven't tried super hard to look for it yet, hopefully something will turn up.]

Sonic resonance?
One wonders at times if all humans should be issued with military-grade earplugs.

One of the reasons why our friendship has survived for so long.
[He's completely sincere. He hasn't been able to do that with most of his human friendships, usually because he changes. He chuckles slightly at the last comment.]
Not sure that would have helped in this case. More like someone moved in below you, claimed themselves landlord and killed you if you made too much noise.
[Well, that's the simplistic answer. The truth about them as the the actual cause of the destruction of so many worlds that history recorded as destroying themselves is far more grizzly.]
You could call them, "The great limiting factor of the cosmos. The death principle," if you like. Far more accurate than their own name of Shalka.
