[A more obvious grin shows with the smile lines to back it up.]

[ Cas' own smile widens in response. He can never quite help it. Easy to smile back when Dean does. ]

Right. We've been through much together, you and I. What's some more?

[It's nice to smile again, and Dean's grin stays present now that it has a reason to.]

Exactly. We're not done, are we?

[ That sobers the expression on Cas' face - but only mildly. The smile turns wistful, rather than vanishing. ]

I was going to be - but only if it meant you'd get to live, properly.

[Dean's expression saddens at the memory.]

By the way, I didn't agree to that. And as usual nothing went the way we wanted it to. So get over here and let's fix it.

I meant what I said years ago, Dean. Much of the time, I'd rather be right here. With you. But if it's between my existence and your life, I will always choose to save you.

I know. Just like you know I'll always fight you on it. And I'd do anything to keep that decision from ever coming up in the first place.
