What in the actual.....
You have absolutely no idea how pissed off I am at you right now! You dragged me into this reality, you hooked me up with your second-youngest muse and because of what's coming down in her life - and the interference from the Azzh**e you think the quip from another of our headmates has some real potential as even a meta storyline?!
What about Joie? Seriously....what about her?!
If you do this, if either of you really does this, I promise you, I will pull out all of the stops and make your life a living hell!

If anything you should be thanking me.

*turns to Elizabeth* You know all this is pretty damned rich coming from a woman who never married herself - who understood that hanging on to her power meant not ceding it to any man. Who Joie is has no fucking bearing on how I feel about her. For fucking petesake! I didn't even know who she was until John here brought up in a meta conversation, but you, being the manipulative bitch that you are, decided to shitstir. Congratulations. You're as much an azzhole as the other one in the equation.

* touching Jimmy's face before sliding her fingers into his calloused ones* She's just jealous of everyone these days. Don't worry. They can't do this to us. The Court will never stand for it, my father won't hear of it - and neither will I.
*smiling up at him.* Maybe I should be the one to ask you out. *grins*

As old Lizzy here pointed out, I am a musician! What do I know?
Seven-faced God? Interesting. I can't say we have ever heard of that where I come from.

Alas I doubt anybody knows for certain which is right. Though they'd put an awful lot of time and energy in convincing people of their way. Suppose the one that shouts the most is the right one, no? Or perhaps it's the other way around? The Old Gods doesn't make much noise and from what I've heard they're older than my god. Supposedly. It's not for naught that the people of the North is known as the First Men.
It matters little for the common man in any regard.
Old Lizzy? Not certain I know whom she is. But a bard is appreciated at any royal court.
The Faith of Seven is the majority religion in Westeros, along the faith of the Old Gods of the Forests. While they co-exist it's not always a peaceful existence.

Old Lizzy....Elizabeth Tudor, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen of England, second daughter of King Henry VIII, who looked a whole lot like one of the kings from where you are from....same moral compass, too, apparently!
no subject
Ah a queen. You should know better than calling her old young man. Respect is a virtue and proper protocols needs to be adhered too or you might just lose your head. Alas I'm curious as which Lord of mine shares the same moral compass... many seems to lack one.

With respect, Sir, there are currently two queens and one former one that I am sharing space with. Between the Queen of England that I mentioned, the Queen of the Unseelie Fae and a former Egyptian Queen who gave it all up for love - it's hard to know where to put my alliances. I won't even mention the others in here on occasion competing for air time.
I just want to play music, do my thing and have a good time....within reason, of course.

I did not question your allegiance, I question your language and lack of proper protocol. Regardless about your feelings on the matter, nobility shall be met with respect. Even if you're challenging them to a duel.
Then do so. I'm not stopping you. [He laughs in amusement.]

*smirks* Not sure that my kind of musicianship is what you'd enjoy. But here goes...
*begins playing the intro to a song

[He stares in confusion at what he hears... it's like nothing he had heard before and it pains his delicate ears.]
Seven Hells, that's what you call music? It sounds like you're strangling a cat.

And what's more, she did it before I could ask the poor girl out on a date!Gee....thanks! *suppresses falling over laughing Sorry, I don't have the 50 piece orchestra with me at the moment. I really can do something quite lovely, but versatility in the market demands that I play what it is that the crowd is after. And unfortunately, the more raucous crowds that I play for like it loud and either sounding like a war or as if a cat's being strangled. *grins*

You could do that, but we both agreed, we are going to take it slow. I mean you are young, and I am not going to be the one to steal your youth. *he tactfully avoids going into further detail*
But so help me....I'll do whatever it takes.

I can not speak for this Queen Elizabeth of yours I'm afraid. While I wouldn't condone it, I'm aware that my own kin aren't always kind and noble. My so-called nephew for one tortured the peasants in the Crownlands for his own amusement. Being a noble isn't for everyone and at times incompetents rulers exist.
Nor does a bard. But they still manage to sound decent.

Queen Elizabeth will be the first to tell you that her father, the one whom I compare to the man who must be your brother, I take it, had a total of six wives. In his case, he kept declaring both of his natural-born daughters as being bastards so many times that it caused bloody wars all over the lands of Europe. She could tell you the sordid tale far better than I could. What I do know, however, is that she decided never to marry anyone based on the fact her father beheaded her mother. *shrug* Can't say that I blame her for that.
Is that a challenge, Sir? * he puts aside the electric guitar and picks up a 10-string acoustic guitar and begins to pick out the opening notes of a different tune.

I'd have two brothers so it doesn't exactly nail it down. Robert was the oldest. He only married once however. Not that it stopped him from laying around with several women and father several bastards. He cared little about the kingdom and spent most of his time eating and drinking. Stannis, my other older brother is a harsh man. I can not recall that he married more than once however. Bit he did have a steady lover, the so called Red Woman, a Priestess of the Lord of Light. I've been told that Stannis sacrificed his children to the Lord of Light. He didn't behead his wife as far as I know though. But my life was cut rather short.
Do sound like quite the story though.
It's "my lord". [He comments with an amused snort. He then listens through as Jimmy plays. The instrument is quite curious. While he has seen guitars before never with that many strings. As Jimmy finishes he gives him hearty applause.] Impressive, master bard.

*gives a soft chuckle* You're not my 'lord'. The world I come from the terms, Sir, Madam, and such are just as respectful as the one you prefer, Majesté *he decides to use French as a compromise*
Thank you. However, 10 strings are just the beginning. I also play 12 string guitar. The woman I work for, who is herself royal, but abdicated her place in line for the throne for love, plays the harp; and that has more strings than even I can manage!
no subject
We usually do not use such terms when referring to nobility. If someone is a Lord, "your grace" or "m'lord" is preferable. If you must be that informal, "ser" can be used aswell.
Twelve strings upon a guitar? How curious. But is it still considered a guitar then? I watched my wife play the harp once in Highgarden. It was a beautiful sight to behold. My Lord Commander plays the violin himself.
no subject
Ser...Sir, sounds pretty close to my untrained ear. *He won't mention that he already speaks at least four languages proficiently* But I think we can manage it.
It is considered a guitar. There is also something called a harp guitar, which has been played for hundreds of years, though not by too many.
no subject
Harp guitar? I believe that instrument is played by the people of the North. It's not common in the southern parts.

Where I come from we have PowWows or Gatgherings of Nations where the People of all of the different Nations get together, dancing in their best finery, feasting, bringing horses to race and to trade and having a good time. We even get tourists from time to time, too.
I also love to go to different places to listen and learn about the music of other places and such. I think of myself as a bit of a musical embassador.

The stubborn hanging on of culture and belief sounds a lot like my own world. There are a couple of religions in the dominant cultures that attempt to convert people, or if they won't be converted, kill them. Still, your world doesn't sound too off from the one I come from.
