...there's a lot on the line here, Mun, but that's no reason to get discouraged. [ Speed's up for the challenge of an application, but he's not so sure that his Mun is. Not at the moment anyway. ] It's not as bad as you think it is... [ Beat. ] Not nearly as terrifying if ya' compare it to the Casa Christo anyway. [ He chuckles and rubs the back of his neck a bit sheepishly. ] But you can't give up. I know that you can do it and it ain't just me. Mom, Pops, Spritle, Trix, ...heck even Chim Chim.

Don't know what the Casa Christo is but I think I can relate. Like on a Mun/Muse level. [ Hell, even on a personal level. ]

It's a... a race. [ He manages a small smile. ] Really? I knew that I couldn't be the only one that felt like this. I'm not sure why my Mun, or any Mun for that matter, gets so nervous. Need to be in it to win it, after all. Or uh, practice makes perfect. [ His smile broadens just a bit. ]

Probably because they're afraid of not being good enough. They are putting themselves out there in a sense. It might be different in some cases but everyone gets nervous at some point. It's totally normal.

Yeah, and I totally get that. I just wish she'd believe in herself half as much as I did. Name's Speed, by the way, ...Speed Racer.

Speed, huh? [ Okay, that is a pretty cool name. ] I'm Marty. Marty McFly. And hey-- you and me both pal! I'm sure your Mun will completely come around it. Sometimes a little encouragement goes a long way for a person.

Yup. [ He smiles. It seems like that's the general consensus. ] Nice to meet you, Marty. Yeah. ...this doubting is just holding her back, but I'm sure she'll come around like ya' said. I couldn't agree more. Are you and your Mun in a game?

[outtatime]

Yeah- [ He nods. ] same here Speed.

Me? I'm homeless right now but she's working on it. She wants to take me to a town called Mayfield where everything is stuck in 1950s and the Milkmen are out for blood.

Least she's started. I think my Mun needs just one more encouraging shove. [ Chuckles. ]

Mayfield, huh, ...sounds sort of like home. Not one of the most pleasant places. Why does she want to send you there?

[ Shrugs his shoulders. He'll never know what goes on in that mind of her's. ] My Mun's got a real sick sense of humor...? I don't know about you but they've got this real weird thing about putting you in all sorts of situations.

[ He starts to scratch his head. ] But a good friend of mine is over there already so at least I'm not going there solo.

...yeah, I kinda noticed. I don't like some of the ideas my own Mun's been concocting. I hope it's not too bad for you over there, despite the uh, circumstances and all.

exactly. i went in expecting speed racer and it delivered. awesome visuals, too.
