[She smiles, relieved to see a familiar face] I think you might have to. She's trying to find something called a 'dressing room'.

[ hers is an evil laugh, or at least what she hopes an evil laugh sounds like. ] Your mun sounds like my mun. She's sticking me in memes right now, totally not sure how to feel about that.

Well I've been having fun with those so far. She's not used to this place so she's trying to find everything.

[She blinks in surprise, her breath catching in her throat. Yep, routine reactions over here on the Gilbert end]

[He has that glint in his eyes that he reserves for Elena.]

You seem well. [It's half-statement, half-question. This time, there's no agenda. He genuinely wants to know how she's doing.]

[She looks down for a moment, feeling the weight of everything on her shoulders]

Did you find what you were looking for? [She's ignoring the question she knows is there. He doesn't need to know of her worries and concerns. Elena knows he probably won't let it go, but she can try. The brave face]

[negotiates]

[He pauses for a fraction of a second, considering his answer.]

With a little more time, perhaps. Maybe in Mystic Falls.

[She's relieved and it shows at the corners of her eyes, the tension pulling away. He didn't ask. Good. She doesn't need to burden him with that]

Really?

[Her lips twitch. She's pleased that he's back]

I'm... I'm glad.

[negotiates]

[There's the ghost of a smirk on his lips at her relief, that softens when she expresses approval. He repeats her question back to her:]

Really?

[Given that he kidnapped her last time they met, he couldn't blame her if she was fine with never seeing him again. Even though he hopes that she accepted his apology.]

[That letter is tucked into her journal, worn from being read over and over. It's ridiculous that she's formed such an attachment to someone whose put her in danger. But then, there are too many similarities. She'd be lying if she said she wouldn't have done similar if their positions were reversed]

Yes, really. Things have been crazy here and you're not. I've missed that.

[She's eighteen. and possibly infatuated. Silly girl]

[He'd be flattered if he wasn't immediately concerned over what she means by crazy. What has Klaus done now?]

If I'd known, I would have returned sooner. Is there anything I can do?

[He's got his concerned stoic face on and Elena grimaces a little. She knew she couldn't get away from it for long. She thinks back to her conversation with Esther, considers the map.]

I was actually going to come looking for you. I was trying to find a different way to take out Klaus without hurting you and your sister.

[negotiates]

That would be difficult, as I believe we're still linked.

[Finding a way to break that link, now: that would be a good start. If he could find Esther...]

Right. I was hoping that there's some kind of spell. Something I can do. It was my blood...

[She growls in frustration and looks up at the ceiling. This isn't fair]

A linking spell like that can't be uncommon, right? It seems like something people would try do to hurt others. So we need to find someone, or some people, who can break that. Or maybe I can break it some how.

[She's determined and it's very clear. She's going to fix this. She's going to save him. That's what Elena Gilbert does]

[negotiates]

[He takes a small step forward, lifting a hand but not quite touching her arm.]

I would be grateful for your assistance, Elena. Have you spoken with Bonnie? She may know something, but I doubt that she would be willing to help...

[Since it is his fault that her mother was turned.]

[She looks up at him and shakes her head slowly]

No. We're... she wants me to stay away. We've taken more from her than we had any right to do. She doesn't need it.

[negotiates]

Of course.

[He won't argue; he knows it's asking too much. He's the one who took something from Bonnie. Elena shouldn't take any of the blame for that.]
