Not exactly. It wouldn't stop him from trying, though. Sokka's always been a little touchy about the 'not being a bender' thing.

That sounds kinda like my mom. She keeps saying that she hopes our baby brother or sister won't be a bender, because then she won't be the only non-bender in our family.

If we changed what they were made out of then maybe...

Well...I suppose that if the pages fell out, I could move them with airbending. That would be kind of like bookbending.

And if they were made out of metal instead of paper, a metalbender could totally bookbend.

[but metal pages would make for an awfully heavy book.]

Couldn't think of anything else. Who's heard of making books out of earth or water, you know? [She scratches her cheek absently.] But metal's cool, they can do all sorts of stuff with that. So I bet they could come up with something.

Maybe they could make the pages out of thin metal. Y'know, so it's lightweight?

I like it. You could try airbending the pages to turn them, or bend them back onto your shelf. [ Just a couple ideas. ] Why'd your mun pick it?

I like all kinds, but I really like the stories about your adventures with Gran-Gran, and how you and your friends ended the Hundred Year War.
