My mun was worried that you might've died in Ragnarok.
I'm doing fine. Was de-aged by a Halloween monster while everyone was powerless, which wasn't fun, but at least I kept all my memories. Earlier this year Nautilus had a fake Deva come in and declare himself king; guess who that reminded me of.
That was a concern of mine as well, considering the prophesies. However, things did not go as planned. Or perhaps, since as Odin said 'Asgard is not a place, it is the people' and only the place was destroyed? The real Ragnarok may yet to come to be. Only time will tell.
It sounds like you have had quite an unconventional time - ah, but this is Nautilus we speak of, is it not? Where the unconventional can yet become commonplace? [There may be a slight smile on those lips, as he recalls with warmth his time there]
Oh? [an eyebrow goes up] I can make many guesses, but I think we both have the same name in mind.
I wouldn't trust the legends and prophecies. Ragnarok couldn't happen like they say, your Loki doesn't have a bunch of evil children. And hopefully he never will.
[She nods.] Yeah, pretty much all stuff to be expected of Nautilus, especially for Halloween. Just on the more annoying-dangerous end of typical.
[Grin] Probably. I wish he had been there to mock the kid. Or someone who'd been on the receiving end of his villain speeches.
Ah, holidays in Nautilus. Always something to keep one vigilant. Everyone returned to relative normal, I presume?
I see. [There may be a twinkle in those gold eyes] Having been on the receiving end of both his mocking, and more than one of those speeches; I am certain that would have brought an early end to this fake-king's reign.
Now is a time when you are needed, good Heimdall. Not just by your mundane, and her fascination with your golden gaze; Asgard needs you at your finest, old friend, and my family will need someone to do more than just watch.
Pray, look after my wife. Look after Alaric, Arngrim, Einar, Gunnar, Hrolf, Leif, Rolfe, Svein, Sigfod, Thakrad, Flosi, Gudrun, Hildy, Jargsa, Kevin, Mick, and the rest. Thor will doubtless see them provided for, but a king cannot devote himself to one family amidst all his people; I can ask only you to fill the gap, and teach them those things a father would wish his godlings to know.
Is it their color or their keen abilities to see beyond that hold such sway? I neither know, nor care. If it allows me the ability to protect those that I count among my people - and more - among both friends and family? It will be enough for now, I hope.
And of course! I shall look after Gudrun as my own sister, and your children are and shall always be the nieces and nephews that they were upon the moment of their birth.
Your life shall live on, told in tales and repeated to them, to be told to their children, and on and on. Your name, your deeds, your courage and good will and strength will live on, this I vow.
With a mundane such as yours, I would discard any measure of "or"; there is only "and." [A ghost of a twinkle was to be found in his earnest eyes...
Only to come alive into full Volstagginous brightness at his friend's assurance, undoubted as it was. Unfair though it may be for the dead to burden the living, nonetheless it was the way of things for them all- and yet, mention of stories allowed with it the possibility of mirth to leaven the load.] Stories, you say? Grand stories there are indeed to tell, but think you that you be ready to share them?
Not for naught, noble Heimdall, but your tale-bearing efforts enow have been rather... concise, shall we say. Stiff, even. Lacking a certain lustre. How shall you seek to win over an audience so demending of the storyteller's high art as my unruly brood?
[See you this slight lowering of an eyebrow and the faint sniff, the slight lifting of the jaw? Heimdall is affronted, nay - near insulted - at the doubts you are casting upon his ability to entertain and inspire younger Asgardians with tales of yore!]
[Still, when all is said and done, Volstagg; you may actually have a point.]
I have a prestigious memory, old friend. I shall but tell the tales of you as you have told them to me, with similar sound and vocal infliction, and memorized gestures as well. Therefore, if the tale be lacking in a certain lustre as you have said? The telling of it shall not rest upon my head alone.

Aside from you. And me. And everyone else.

And that I am not alone in this both amuses and annoys.
no subject
It depends on if what's back home is better than fucking this.
no subject
And I shall have to think upon that as well. Though, at present I am not entirely certain as to where home is anymore. Or if there will be one again.

[It's typical teenage girl sarcasm, full eyeroll and 'ugh' included, but there's a little something else in it that doesn't match up.]
If home isn't a place you want anymore, make one for yourself, and make the rules there.

[there is a searching look in Neptune's direction now, but no hint of disdain or annoyance.]
I now go where my king, my kith and kin go - we shall likely create something together.

Stick with the people whose worst you know. Or if you know at least a little of the worst that they want.
It's stupid when people pretend they only want good things.

And you? Your health remains, yes?

And yes, there are worse fates. [there is a solemn and respectful bow of the head in Volstagg's direction.]

It should be a DELIGHT to witness.

Bittersweet memories I am sure!
Still, it is a step in the right direction. I hope.
