So you did it. We did it. Congratulations. If only it had been years sooner, I would have had a family to share it with.

[He rolls his eyes slightly and takes a swig of his wine, before flashing a smirk.

I suppose I must save my nepotism for close friends.

[longterm]

[Cesare sucks on his tongue and shakes his head. He thinks of her as a phantom, a trick that he cannot trust. Games like this have been played with him before. Another swig of wine.]

My player deemed it fit to separate the two of us. She decided I was too cruel to you. She had you leave me. It seems she is the cruellest one.

[lenire]

(How rude! Must she forget all of her manners and tackle him in a merciless embrace?)

The situations were cruel, Cesare, from what I have been told. (She has yet to experience much of it.) I think we both must lose our minds.

I do not wish to be parted from you.

[longterm]

[He scoffs and shakes his head, not quite able to cope with what she's saying. They're almost the exact words he has hoped to hear her say - hell, even simply seeing her after this long would be a dream - but he still cannot trust it.]

You should tell her that. I have achieved so much but it all feels so hollow.

[He shrugs, attempting to dispel the depressing tone of it all, and smirks at her.]

I don't think she understands that other women do little to distract me.

[lenire]

I would rather spend my time with you. (With a delicate swish of her skirts, she hurries to him, slipping her arms around his neck. Then, cheek to cheek, she murmurs:) I love you.

(Her nose wrinkles and she huffs.) Must you think of other women?

[longterm]

[Cesare closes his eyes and breathes in.] I love you too, Sis.

[But then she speaks of the other women and his eyes open to look at her, both amused and apologetic.]

I'm afraid so. How else am I supposed to cope in your absence? I need something to focus on, even if I would rather it be you.
