You really think this is a good idea? Between your job search and the part-time job you do have and won't stop complaining about, when are you going to find the time to keep up with a game? Priorities, mun. Ignoring them won't make them go away. You know this.

And let's not even pretend you're going to try to find a setting I'd be comfortable in. As you so cheerfully put it, I have "control issues, trust issues, and daddy issues aplenty." How do you expect to build CR while I'm busy dealing with all of that in an unfamiliar place?

My dear, the expectation is for you to build CR precisely because of those issues, not in spite of them. The aloof loner is exactly the sort the optimistic hero types tend to try hardest to befriend.

I'm familiar with the type. And you're saying I'd have even more of that sort of thing to look forward to in a game? Fantastic.

Look on the bright side: they're incredibly easy to direct if you don't fight it.

Of course, the same can be said if you present yourself as a villain for them to overcome, but that requires far more effort.

True, that does come in handy. It makes things so much easier when people are willing to go along with a plan.

And long-term negativity brought on from playing the villain is much more of a hassle to overcome. Most of the time, it isn't worth it.

I... made some unfortunate alliances in the past. It helped me in the short term, but it's really just been a mess I've had to clean up since then.
