I do not understand.

Why would I require a lightsaber when Excalibur is a superior blade? [ Clearly, this is Jedi Order is nothing like her Round Table. ] I am aware that the former is more circumstantial appropriate than my sword, nonetheless I do not see the gain in downgrading my weapon for the sake of aesthetics.

That is correct. However, I am able to adapt Excalibur to individual combat if it is necessary. [ It is also her symbol of kingship, she's not willing to give it up. ]

That swords like an excellent sword, in that case. [And he knows a lot about swords. He makes about fifty of them per fight.] But I've never seen a reason for attachment to a particular blade, so I can't comment.

It is not an ordinary blade. [ it's made of dreams, glory and hope. ] I suppose that makes it unfair if I fight against someone armed with a lesser model. I would not want to have an uneven match, if that's the case.

I think the thing with lightsabers is that they're supposed to be tools as much as weapons. They just get used as weapons a lot.

Basically they're like... cutting tools. They're supposed to be able to cut through almost anything. Also, they can deflect blaster bolts, if you're good enough at them.

I don't really have much first hand experience. Or... well, almost none, really.

Blaster bolts? Forgive my ignorance, but I am unaware of what a blaster is.

They're... Um, blasters are energy weapons. Blaster bolts are the things they send out to hit things. Those burn, and sometimes they make things explode.

I want to be a pilot. Go see the galaxy, go fly, be... pretty much normal. But, I know, they'd test me and figure out that I'm Sensitive.

You can still do that if that is your wish. There is something known as Second Magic in the world I come from. It means that multiple possibilities of a different outcome exist for a same person out there.

Not where I'm from. There, if they find out you're Sensitive, the Inquisitorius comes for you. The things I really want to do, they test you for that before you can get the license. Sometimes way before that, in the academy.

Better to be a Jedi and on the run then taken by them.

If you're Sensitive, you could become a Jedi, and they're all enemies of the Empire. Or they can take you, and make you a useful agent of the Empire.
