A-and that's fine! I'm sure the people waking up around now are all more focused on all of the other games and sequels in this series than the one I'm in... I mean... we're pretty looked-over as it is... but that d-doesn't matter! The important thing is that You're paying attention, right? We're not really left behind, are we? Even if I'm... six entries behind...

If... if it's not too much of a bother, I'd really like to be remembered sometimes, you know? I know there's so many more people more important than me that take up real estate but... if someone's not completely forgotten then they're not truly gone...

[He has to show respect when it's due, right? Vivi and all the other characters before him in this endless fairytale are the fore-bearers who helped bring some 'joy' to countless fans. It's only proper to show respect.]

[ Vivi tugs at the brim of his hat, adjusting the large thing on his head. ]

G-golly. That um... that's really nice of you to say, mister. I-I'll bet you're gonna be really popular, being so nice and everything!

It's okay for everyone to be excited. But that doesn't mean we will be forgotten. Our adventure is just as close to everyone's hearts as the new ones will be.

What we can be proud of is being part of that warmth. Right? There will always be people who remember and love us.

[He laughs a little at that. Noctis doesn't think he comes across as 'nice' towards others. Determined and stubborn, yeah, but 'nice'? The prince can't help but smile some.

Being popular isn't as cracked up as it ought to be. All the attention can get...scary sometimes.

[For the life of him, Noctis can't seem to get a good look at Vivi's face. All he sees is a pair of glowing yellow eyes under there and that's it. How odd.]

[ At first, Vivi can't seem to see what might be bad about having a lot of people like you. That was something he'd wanted for a long time, after all, but after a moment's thought, he looks down and nods. ]

Y-yeah, I guess it would be kind of scary... having lots of people around you all the time. But I bet it's also exciting sometimes!

[ He looks pleased with his analysis, but a little nervous at talking about himself. ]

O-oh. Me? Th-that's right. I don't... really remember a lot about when I was born... or made... Where I come from, mages like me aren't... really people. I mean, we are! but we're sort of just... made. Kinda like dolls, I guess...

Do they not have black mages where you're from?

[ He looks happy at seeing a familiar face. He even hurries over for a hug. ]

Y-You're right! But I... I can't help but feel like people don't really care sometimes. N-Not all the time! But that we're kind of... an afterthought? Oh.. gee... that sounds really bad, doesn't it..?

B-But you're right. I don't regret anything we did, and we all had fun together, right? That's the important part!

Yeah, it's...kind of exciting. Mhmm. It really is exciting.

[You know, Vivi has a point. Maybe being popular isn't so bad. Noctis may dread the social aspect involved with it but he enjoys seeing such awe and admiration from others. It makes him want to fight harder for them, to protect them from the darkness that tries to harm them.]

A doll? [He peers at the little mage curiously now.] No way! The last time I checked, dolls don't have feelings.

[He shakes his head. A doll? Heck no. Vivi is too 'alive' just to be some mere doll.]

Not really. Magic is...quite rare in my world. I'm one of the few who can use magic.

[ Vivi looks a little embarrassed by the assumption that dolls lacked any kind of feeling. ]

W-well, some do.

[ What he could not grasp, however, was a world with little to no magic. Where did it go? Something that flowed through him like blood and filled his world to the brim with all sorts of creatures and wonderful feats... he could hardly picture it. ]

Golly.. You must be really special, then! B-but.. if you don't mind my asking, why is that? Are... people afraid of it?

[She of course drops to her knees and gathers him up in a tight hug. She then leans back on her heels.]

Hmm... though I do agree ours might not be the most popular one... Every single person who does love ours loves it so much they might burst. They talk about it with such affection! That's probably why you're feeling so scared because those people are so few and far between?

[She reaches up to adjust his hat.]

I suppose we'll just have to stick together.

[The small green critter wanders over, slow as its usual pace...and then holds up a plate of freshly baked cookies in offering.]

[ There's a look of astonishment about him, but yet pleased all the same. He laughs a little when she fixes his hat. He would blush if he could. ]

I... I guess so. I guess you're right, though... It's probably better to be loved whole-heartedly by a few than just liked by a lot.

You always know how to make things look brighter.

[ He's startled, but looks up at his tall, tall friend in wonder. ]

R-Really? You think so? I-I mean... I really hope not. I know I could never forget someone as brave and noble as you!

[ There is a little panic at the approach of the Tonberry, but its gift makes Vivi feel a little embarrassed. Graciously, he accepts a cookie and looks rather pleased. ]

Golly... t-thank you. That's um.. that's really nice of you to share!

[She laughs and gives Vivi a nod.]

Maybe someday we will have our adventure beautifully redone as well... It's a nice thought.

[Freya smiles, but a touch of sadness lights her eyes.]

Things will be forgotten, and sometimes even those things most important to us can be lost. But we can't let go of the hope that we have touched the hearts of others, and it will give them strength and happiness when they need it most.
