[ Dark eyes widen with realization, her lips jutting out in the faintest of pouts, her voice meek. ]

... no. It really wasn't all bad.

[ Aw don't make that face! He softens, chuckling. ]

Did you like meeting me?

Of course I did!

[ There's a small pause, small hands wringing together. ]

But I-- miss you. There's this heavy feeling on my chest. What does it mean?

so many feels. ;;

[kohaku_river]

[ He beams, small tears gathering in his eyes. ]

I don't know, but I feel it too. I think we're connected no matter where we go.

[ His words cause a flutter within her, of both joy and sorrow. Even a little bit of confusion because some bits were still fuzzy but not forgotten. ]

You mean so much to me. I don't want to be apart ever again, Haku!

we shall drown together!

[ He wastes no time in pulling her into a tight hug, his tears falling down his cheeks. ]

What makes you think you will be?

[ Once she's pulled into the tight embrace, her own arms tightly wrap around Haku and her face presses against his chest. She isn't going to let go any time soon. What if this is another dream? What if she comes completely undone? What would have happened if she had forgotten forever? Exhaling a shaky breath of air, she slowly pulls her face away to gaze up at Haku's face, her eyes glossy. ]

I almost forgot about you-- thinking it was only a dream! I don't want to forget!

[ Now tears were flowing free, fear lurking in those dark eyes of hers. ]

[ It feels good to be held so tight; to know she is safe and here with him. But this isn't where she belongs and he accepts that begrudgingly. She has a whole world of her own and he is meant to reside amongst the other spirits. Still, he drops a kiss on her forehead. ]

The memory might fade - like a dream - but it won't ever leave you. I will look after you your whole life.

[chihironotsen]

[ Her eyes close at the forehead kiss and there's a small smile gracing her lips, followed by soft sniffling. ]

You promise?

[kohaku_river]

[ Haku dabs at her cheeks with a handkerchief, chuckling. ]

I promise, Chihiro.

[chihironotsen]

[ A soft sigh escapes her lips and her cheeks flush brighter than usual at the tears being wiped. There's calmness washing over Chihiro and after a moment she rests her head against Haku's chest, not wanting the moment to end. ]

Thank you, Haku.

[kohaku_river]

[ His arms curl around her and he rests his cheek on the top of her head. She is precious to him and he can remember himself as long as she lives. ]

My river is forgotten, but not by you.

[chihironotsen]

[ There's a smile that won't falter from both her eyes and lips but her face is nuzzling against his shirt. ]

You've saved my life twice. I don't know what I'd ever do without you.
