Apprehensive about apping (Canon is: Hannibal)

You just couldn't let me be could you? If you had to send me anywhere, why couldn't it have some nice, quiet place out of the way where I wouldn't have to bother with anyone. Somewhere with a lake or full of rivers, but no, you think it's best for me to spend what little free time I have, wandering caves full of monsters!?

There's something sadistic about you. I've spend long enough in your head to know it. It's unsettling to say the least.

[ Will's growing more and more frustrated by the moment, ever since the application was handed in. He doesn't like waiting, especially not when it's something he's not very happy about in the first place. ]

... You're sending Winston there with me too? ....

[ Annnd that's Will walking off. Seriously annoyed with his mun. Oh dear. ]

It seems these scribes are most amused when we are least comfortable with the situations in which they put us. I am sorry for your troubles - this Winston, he means a great deal to you, I take it? I hope you both are not in danger...

Indeed. Sometimes I wonder if they don't sit there and wonder 'what way can I break them today? Shall I attack the mind, the body?' It's appalling, how they enjoy the pain they inflict.

[She smiles, noting his lack of eye contact. But Margaery won't push him. She even laughs a little at his sarcasm.]

Well, I certainly hope things aren't too bad for you and your dog. Perhaps he will help you maintain a level head and keep you from becoming too sad. Better than facing it alone, eh?

Pleased to meet you, Will. I'm Margaery. Thus far I haven't had too bad of a time, but that could change soon enough.

I don't blame you - though if you don't make it into the ranks for the world your scribe is currently interested in, you may find yourself up in the running for something much worse. But I don't blame you for not wanting your pet to get hurt - it shows you do indeed care and have compassion.

[She tries to hold a sweeter smile when he half-looks to her. Trying to encourage him that there's nothing to fear with her.]

Poetically put. And accurate, unfortunately. I have found that attempting to remain positive in the face of dark circumstances helps ease the pain. When all else fails, playing the game to win also makes you stronger and able to overcome more obstacles than you may have originally thought possible.

[There's more to this golden rose than pretty petals, that's for sure!]

But I thank you for your concern.

Mmm...then perhaps you need a distraction. Silver lining, if you will. Something to look forward to amidst all the horror.

[She laughs softly at his question. Not mocking, it's just a long story.]

You may not have heard of it. I've encountered many who haven't. I'm from a city called Highgarden in the country of Westeros. Have you heard of it, I'm curious?

[She pouts, pitying him. Has he truly been through so much that he feels suffering is his calling? Surely it can't be so.]

[But she tilts a brow at the second statement, confused.]

LARP? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the term... but you're right, my realm is one of swords and soldiers, horses and dragons. It's an interesting place, you might like it, Highgarden is especially peaceful and prosperous.

[It hurts her heart to see him in such pain. No one should have to tolerate such suffering. Surely she could help bring him some manner of happiness?]

There are rivers, yes. Jewel weed and water lilies grow near the banks of the river, it's beautiful on a sunny day. I think you'd find the fish of Highgarden sweet and fresh to taste.

Yes, I am indeed referring to a real dragon - the great scaly beast with wings. Because the Dolarhyde version is downright terrifying.

[Margaery can sense he's grown a but more comfortable. She smiles, legitimately happy at the progress. Margaery loves company, and would not object to seeing Will again, especially if she can provide some comfort to him.]

Well, should you ever find your way there, you're more than welcome. The orchards too, they're very peaceful, often I would hide there among the trees when I wanted time to myself. True, there are plenty of places to hide in Highgarden for those who don't wish to be found.

[Margaery giggles slightly at the tint of his cheeks.]

You're hardly boring. I'm sure you have plenty of excitement where you come from, too! Even without dragons and White Walkers and the like.
tyrelltempest: (Sweetest smile)

[personal profile] tyrelltempest 2016-10-10 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Margaery's far shrewder than she looks. So when his mind flickers to the unpleasant, imagining some malevolent creature watching her in the orchards and floral gardens that Highgarden possessed, she senses it; sees it in his eyes, the fear and the anxiety. Even if he won't really meet her gaze.]

[But all the same she smiles, and tips her head a bit to the side.]

Highgarden would be happy to have you. I, in turn, would be happy to show it to you. Seasons there are...a bit different. At least that's what I'm told. It's far south, so even the minimal winters that Westeros has seen are even less intense in Highgarden. We are apparently still waiting on the great Winter that the Stark clan always warns of.

I prefer warm weather myself, for that very reason. The sweet smell of ripening fruit and blossoming flowers. Summer storms and rain are unlike any other as well, if you ask me.

White Walkers...hmm...where to begin...? Well, many think they are a myth. Bedtime stories to frighten unruly children into behaving. But, evidently, they are very much real. When men die beyond the Wall that separates the cold north from the Seven Kingdoms, they are said to be revived; brought back from the dead and unable to die again. They turn white from the cold and frostbite, and their eyes turn icy blue.

[Her smile is gone, talking about the White Walkers. Margaery gives a slight shiver and rubs her upper arms.]

They are...not creatures one hunts for pleasure...

[She tilts her head again when he says she doesn't feel real. Her bright eyes are wide, curious. Her soft smile is back again.]

Shall I take that as a compliment? 'Too good to be true' almost? Perhaps it is our differing backgrounds.

[She reaches out and gives his wrist a playful pinch.]

Did that feel real? [She giggles.]

((ooc: It's all good! Glad you got in - your Will is GREAT! You make me want to re-watch the series again lol! But thank you, that's so sweet! I'd absolutely be up for a meme if you have one in mind, or a psl works for me too! I'm all about AUs if that's your taste, if not it's fine! :) ))

[She tilts a brow in interest as he leans in, then she smiles and gives a soft laugh.]

Your secret is safe with me.

[She looks confused for a moment, then it dawns on her what he must think and she nods slowly.]

Ah...so you think that the White Walkers are capable of true thought. I'm afraid you've misunderstood. The White Walkers, legend tells us, were created long ago by the Children of the Forest in the spirit of vengeance. They were angry at my ancestors, the Andals, for their butchery of the forest and the trees that made their home. The White Walkers then evolved and began reproducing themselves.

I'd say their one goal is what it has always been: The absolute destruction of humankind.

[Her voice and expression are grim just then. While Margaery is considered by many to be bubbly and bright and almost naive, she is in truth very astute and cunning. While she has not yet come to her grandmother's level of scheming, Margaery is clever and has superior deduction skills on her own.]

[When he jumps, she looks guilty. Perhaps she had moved too forwardly, too quickly. She feels bad for the motion now, even if he smiles and laughs it off. But, if she's being absolutely honest about it, she rather likes the way the blush tints his cheeks.]

A compliment it is then. Well, at any rate, I hope that I have been of some comfort or pleasant distraction to you.

((ooc: Lol I've re-watched it almost three times, surprised I don't have it memorized :P I'll pm you with au details!))
