On keeping an eye out for canonmates for

Look, I get what you're trying to do. Really, I do. I just don't think you've really thought this through. Believe me, I'd like to see Harry or Justine, too, but you said yourself you probably won't find a Justine, and you're playing me in an AU setting where I haven't met either of them yet. Things might not go the same way if I don't have Justine around to bring out the best in me.
Yes, I know he'll accept me once he knows we're half-brothers, but we have to get that far, first, and that's not even counting how different things would go with everyone else I could meet out of order. I hate to admit it, but even my good looks will only get me so far. Man, could you imagine if you found a Michael or Charity before Harry knows who I am?
...why are you smiling?

[Because he could use all the good luck he could get.]

You got yourself in some kind of trouble, Thomas?

[Not exactly an answer.]
Just some game stuff. I can handle it.
[Probably.]

[Yeah, not letting you get away with that.]
On a scale of Red Court to Denarians to "Murphy without coffee", how bad is it?

[He pauses, thinking about it.]
Probably Red Court. There's an insane vampire running the show. He and his lackeys have enough people pissed that they're gunning for vampires in general, and not exactly stopping to check IDs first.
[So a bit like the Red Court's war on the White Council, and just as dangerous.]

Torch and pitchfork mobs, got it.
And how many people there know you're a vampire?
no subject
[Not that he could put an exact number on it. There were too many variables. People sharing information, people seeing him in a fight and putting two and two together.]
Only one that's tried anything yet, though.

And how close did this Buffy wannabe get?

Seriously, though. You doing all right, Thomas?

[...but Harry would have to learn in that alternate universe that Thomas was his half-brother before he'd know that he should have Thomas's back. If a Harry were to show up, that was.]
I'm handling things.
