Possibly headed off to another game.
[Glinda is packing and repacking a large chest of clothes. Shoes, jewelry and dresses hang in the air over her, suspended by magic while she fusses and flits about attempting to make everything. None of the dresses are going in a easily and she's clearly crumpling the fabrics as she attempts to stuff everything in.]
If you do intend to send me to another world the least you should offer is the change to bring one's own adornormettes! [She huffs as one of her hooped skirts hangs haphazrdly out of the chest.] Truly! Am I to be without any home comforts or privilages? The least I should be given is my own clothes. How should I know what to wear there? There may not be anything suitable.
[Glinda stops in horror.]
What if they only have trousers? Or worse; those odacious work clothes?
[She shudders.]

I'm sure he can hook you up.

I am certain that I couldn't ask a gentleman to 'hook' myself up without knowing him a while at the very least?
[Surely she means hooking up a corset?]
It would be rather improper to ask also.

Jack is definitely not a "gentleman."
But, like, he's the best man I know. So there's that.
no subject
[Glinda is confused.]
That's peculiar. Is he a...[She just stops herself from saying gentleman.] Man who is aware of women's fashion?

We're going to a Halloween party in matching costumes.
no subject
A party? [Glinda brightens at the prospect. She loves parties.] Is it to be a ball? Or a costumed gala?
no subject
Halloween is a...well, it used to be a harvest festival. Now it's more of an excuse to drink and eat candy and dance. All while wearing a costume. Kind of a "come as you aren't" day.
no subject
I do so love a costume. It's been so long since I've had chance to make myself something exciteful.
I wonder what I could wear. If it is something you aren't that you must be then I wonder what I should be? [She puzzles to herself.] I think a Bad Witch?
no subject
How do you tell a good witch from a bad one?
no subject
[Glinda smiles. It's an old Ozian propeganda but one she's merrily continued through her reign as Ozma. It has suited her purposes well.]
A Good Witch is beautiful as her goodness shines from within and shows on her outer visagial. A Wicked Witch is an ugly crone; the misfortune of a life wasted on Wicked magic and selfish persuits.

That a first impression is normally correct!

It would be my belief that you are helpful or at the very leasting willful of the opportunity to help.

How worrisome. I don't mind making clothes of my own creatious but i had hoped there would at least be a good boutique or two for the more modest lady.

[He reaches out to touch the fabric on one of the floating dresses, feeling it between thumb and forefinger.] This just isn't the kind of trip you can pack for.
no subject
[She grimaces. She has a feeling that it might be one of those trips.]
No. I thought as much. But at least if I had fifteen good outfits prepared I might feel a little more at home in an out of home place.

[He's bending down to pluck one of the dresses from the pile.]
no subject
No, please do. [She gestures for him to go ahead, sitting by the side of the trunk and watching with interest.]

Conservation of mass means it'll still weigh the same, but you could tote five or six of these in a durable bag. My friend Margo and I did this all the time for long trips.
[He stands, holding out the cylinder for her to take and see for herself.]
There's a simple incantation that'll get it to pop back into shape. I'll write it down for you.
no subject
How interestingly you cast your craft. [She bobs her head towards him.] Are hand signals and sylphs common in your world?
no subject
But I didn't introduce myself. [He offers her his hand, positioned so that she may take it in a more classically feminine fashion, if she wishes.] I'm Eliot.
no subject
A pleasure. I am Lady Glinda Arduenna Upland. The Ga is silent.
no subject
My Lady.
I take it this sort of magic isn't common, in your world? [He'll get to compressing up a few more dresses while they continue to talk.]
