[What he says is true, but that doesn't make it sit right with Dean. A selfish part of him wants to ask if he could give the crazy to someone less important, someone the brothers didn't need even after all the drama they'd been through.]

Maybe things would've gone different if I'd just listened to you.

Many things would have gone differently if different choices had been made. But unless I had pulled Sam out of the Cage completely, this would have still become an issue some day and some time. The Wall would not have held forever.

[It was a topic change, and probably a strange one at that, but if they hadn't been able to help Cas then what good were they? They still hadn't been able to stop the Leviathan, either, and that was another thorn in Dean's side he didn't want to think about.]
