All About the Hype Train // Canon is Voltron: Legendary Defender // SPOILERS

Wow. You really don't go for subtle, do you? I mean, I guess technically the Black Lion would be the male leader of the pride while the others would be the lionesses, but still that's probably not how most people see it.

Not sure if I should be glad you're considering just doing memes as opposed to one of these "games" or not. I've kind of got more important things on my mind. Y'know, saving the universe, finding my family, that sort of thing.
lukeim_yurlin: (If I tell you will you shut up?)

Not much stops the humans who are pulling our strings. You'll learn that quickly enough.
lukeim_yurlin: (What a pain.)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
[He's quiet a moment, debating how to answer. Then:]

Outside of a game? Not really. Should you be forced into one, however, find a few trusted allies. You'll need them.

[A lesson he's had to learn and accept. Can't be a lone wolf in a place where the setting might be trying to kill you.]
lukeim_yurlin: (Why me...)

[His frown deepens and one hand goes for his hat to draw the brim lower and...dammit, he keeps forgetting his hat is gone. Ungh.]

I...have been. It was during what my mun referred as the "voice testing stage" before I was apped into a game about six months ago.
lukeim_yurlin: (Not putting up with your shit!)

Hmph, more than likely.

Just feel fortunate it's the wrong time of year for mistletoe memes.

[SO DAMN BITTER ABOUT THAT ONE.]
lukeim_yurlin: (Tch.)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Very.

And these idiot humans tend to find it funny when we get set up across from people we hate.
lukeim_yurlin: (Dammit...)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah, well, he sort of let that slip, didn't he? He's not as bitter towards humans as SOME people he knows, but still. Humans can be quite aggravating at times.]

No, I'm not.

I'm a seraph and in all likelihood, I shouldn't even be visible to you. My mundane likes to ignore that rule here so she can force me into conversations with greater ease.
lukeim_yurlin: (Why you...)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Tch, maybe. The game I got forced into doesn't play entirely by the rules, either.

[At the mention of the word "angel", his lips draw back briefly to reveal two rows of triangular, shark-like teeth. He looks for a moment like he might lash out verbally, but somehow manages to hold back. Folding his arms across his chest, he forces himself to take a deep breath and settle somewhat. Still, his tone is tight and low when he responds.]

...where I'm from, "seraph" is singular. "Seraphim" is plural. We're elemental spirits with one foot in the mortal world.
lukeim_yurlin: (Hmph.)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a sigh as Dezel gears up for offering an explanation.]

Ideally, seraphim and humans are supposed to have a mutually beneficial relationship. Humans pray to us to bolster our ability to maintain blessed domains, and we reside in or around shrines in human inhabited areas, using our blessings to protect the land and the people from impurities, which we call "Malevolence."

However, over hundreds of years, many humans have lost their belief in us. The churches also aren't as pure as they once were and Malevolence has taken hold of the land. Without proper vessels to shield us from Malevolence, it's safer for most seraphim to stay away from humans.

[In other words, the functional system broke down and...pretty much all most seraphim do nowadays is steer clear of what will hurt them, aka humans.]

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
It is.  Humans seem to have trouble believing in what can't be seen and as they long ago lost the spiritual insight needed to perceive us, it's easier for some of them to think we're not around.
lukeim_yurlin: (Tch.)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a low grunt of disgust from Dezel.]

Personally, I don't much care how understandable it is... If something isn't done to turn everything around, Malevolence will consume the world I know. It turns seraphim, humans, animals and even the wandering souls of the dead into hellions that exist only to kill and destroy. The land is slowly turning into a hellscape and humans can't even see it! They just think natural disasters are to blame for how bad things are getting.
lukeim_yurlin: (Quiet contemplation...)

[personal profile] lukeim_yurlin 2016-06-13 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ehn, he needs to take it down a notch. This one's just a kid who doesn't know any better. Huffing out a sigh, Dezel makes some effort to even his tone out when he responds.]

No... To most humans, some hellions might look like water spouts or tornadoes. Hellions that were once humans or animals might look like they've gone rabid. Humans can't see the dark haze in the air where Malevolence is strong, either. Sometimes they may sense the air feels heavier than normal and they can tell through weather patterns like rain that won't stop for days that something is amiss, but that's usually as far as it goes.

That I can't be sure of. The problem involving loss of resonance began centuries ago, perhaps more than a thousand years or so back.

The resonant human a few of us have allied ourselves with to combat the Malevolence overtaking the land may be able to do something about it. Only time will tell if that plan will work, though.
