[Fortunately, her Mun's been too upset about Mest to bring up what else happened in that chapter. Best not to mention it to her.]

[She shakes her head, still glancing downward.]

Even if he had good intentions... There are other ways he could've protected the guild...

[Brainwashing someone to kill an enemy who had agreed to hearing the opposing party out is pretty much what someone wanting to protect their allies wouldn't do.]

Good intentions or not, there's no excuse for what he did to an ally or friend. I think... his time with the Council influences him too much. He can't think like a member of Fairy Tail anymore.

That is possible, but... [She can think more clearly now that she's had time to digest what happened.] Is that the only possibility? [A beat.] Maybe Mest-san is afraid of August-san, or... Maybe he knows something that we don't—something that he has to keep secret in order to protect everyone.

[ Well, Wendy wasn't there so Lucy could excuse that blind faith. A little. When she got older and matured she'd be able to temper it a little, Lucy hoped. ]

It was pretty obvious he was afraid of August. But he had no faith in Natsu or I, or even Brandish. He was scared, and he snapped - you should have seen his face, it was like he went insane.

What he did wasn't just wrong.. those were the kind of actions that someone in a Dark Guild would do....and I can't excuse someone who does things like that for any reason. [ Especially when they were about to resolve it -peacefully- and could now be all killed because of him. ]

Mest-san... He changed Brandish-san's memories so that she perceived August-san as someone she had to kill. [She's silent for a brief moment.] She... She stabbed him—right after he agreed to listen to Natsu-san and Lucy-san. [More brief silence.] He's going to fight them...

[It's clear to her that something's wrong with Levy, too; however, she won't ask about it unless Levy brings it up.]

I don't know. It doesn't seem like something Mest-san would do, either.

[Certainly, some of his actions have been questionable. However, she wants to believe in him, especially since there's a possibility there's more to what he did than was let on.]

I hope Natsu-san and Lucy-san will be all right...

[As strong as they are, they will likely be in for a tough battle if August is really as powerful as he was rumored to be.]
