[She hugs him back, biting her lower lip to keep from bursting into tears.]

[At his last words she smiles and laughs a little.] As opposed to doing something crazy with you, right?

That's a given. I wouldn't want to be left out after all. [ He's trying to make it sound like he's just being his usual cocky self, though his voice may have cracked just a little. But damn if he's going to cry first.]

[She leans back a bit, despite how glassy her eyes are, and smiles to him.]

I'd never leave you out on anything.

[ He gives a faint grin.]

Well...it could be worse. That's really the only thing that's comforting me at this point.
