Ever heard the phrase "rest in peace"? I'm thinking this is the opposite of that. So really, what's the deal? You leave me alone for a while, you come back to me, leave me alone, come back. Which is it? What're you gonna do with me now?

They're pretty empty threats. What would be the worst that could happen anyway? [After the few places he's been, not to mention...well, everything, he's more amused by the prospect than anything.]

Think about it this way, Annabeth. One hand, I get thrown into someplace with a lot of monsters, probably, and I have to fight my way out since nobody's gonna bother to help us. On the other, I stay up here doing absolutely nothing and being forgotten. You should know better than anybody what sounds more interesting to me.

Yeah, I know. But those places are pretty awful too. I barely got out of mine.

It was the Underworld. Except way worse.

Been to the Underworld lately? Wasn't exactly the greatest place to begin with. [Hard to imagine it being worse, really.] How long?

Once with Percy. Not counting Tartarus.

For or five years, maybe. I lost track.

How do you survive four or five years in the way-worse-Underworld?

You don't, but they bring you back if you die so they can keep being way worse to you.

Well isn't that generous. [Of course they'd bring people back from the dead. Of course.]

You were alone?

For most of it yeah.
