Channeling my inner Darkness is what made me lose everything. It made me stronger, but it let Xehanort take over my body, so all that's left of me is the hatred I have for him.

[Though, arguably, the Lingering Will was stronger now than he'd never been as Terra, but he couldn't do much except fight.]

More than someone who follows the light should have. But maybe...

[The look in Tathara's eyes is a solemn one.]

There's darkness in every heart. I think...it's what a person does with it that's important. My Master was so focused on the light, that he didn't notice his own darkness until it was too late.

[He looks down. Though there's no face to look at, he still looks downcast.]

I fell too deeply into mine, and he used it against me. Took everything from me.

[He clenches a fist, darkness radiating from the armor.]

[To say he's got an axe to grind is the understatement of the century.]

[Woo boy, that there is some serious rage. Tathara takes a step back, raising the shield she wears on one arm. Out of reflex more than anything, she raises her voice.]

If you're angry, use it! If you lose what you cherish, fight to get it back! Better to die yourself than live on as someone- something else!

[Anger rises up in the back of her throat, choking her words for a moment.]

To do otherwise is an insult to everything either of us have lost.

[The darkness settles as the Lingering Will remembers his fight with Xehanort. He doesn't know what happened to him after they fought, but the fact that he still didn't have his body was proof enough that Xehanort was still out there.]

I did. Fought Xehanort. Defeated him. He escaped. Took my body and my heart with him. I...don't know if there's enough left of me to try again.

[He takes off his helmet, revealing the fact that there's literally nothing inside of it, before replacing it.]

[Animated armor? Not that weird. Sentient animated armor? Pretty freakin' weird.]

Lathander preserve-! You weren't exaggerating about that last part. Good grief... [She approaches gingerly, step by step.] You're... still you in there. There's still something. That's a step up. Isn't it?

[And strangely enough, not that weird for a Keyblade Master. It had been one of their early lessons, about how a Master could impart such a strong will upon their armor that it would act as them even if they weren't wearing it. The Lingering Will was grateful that the lesson had been a true one.]

If Xehanort hadn't taken my body, my mind would have never needed to take refuge here. But...I can still protect, still try to make things right. It's something.

[He ignights his lightsaber, still grasping his coffemug in one hand. Man, he really loves talking epic smack.]

[With no witty retort in response, the Lingering Will charges forward, his keyblade warping in shape such that it more closely resembles a whip, which he cracks at Vader three times. Eleven years was a long time to spend alone. He's learned a few things in that time.]

[Vader responds with the precise economy of motion needed to block each strike. After decades of study and practice on the battlefield he has no need for fancy moves, nor does he care to show off as he did as a youth.

Plus, he doesn't want to spill his latte.]

[Ah... Now, this is a fascinating sight. Granted, this particular Xemnas has ventured to the Keyblade Graveyard. He's seen the armor from afar.

He knows, on some level, what it is.

It is fortunate that he lacks a heart, for he suspects that his emotions would attack him without the slightest provocation, were he capable of feeling.

As it is, his expression is utterly blank.]

Indeed, the past cannot be undone. Try as you might, your story ended in tragedy. The worlds have moved on, for better or for worse.

But there are some who refuse to let go.

[The Lingering Will, on some level, can sense what Xemnas is, but something was throwing him off. Like there was a piece missing that was making it hard to get a bead on exactly who it was.]

The battle will return there, one day. Even though I lost my body, it'll come back when he returns for what was left behind.

The one who called me from there, he believe I have some part to play. That's why he won't let me go.

A strong will is needed, and a singular purpose to hold onto. We Keyblade Masters spend most of our lives in our armor, it's not surprising that we can leave shadows of ourselves behind, even after we've left the world.
