canon is the nut job, buddy is selectively mute

[ Buddy is very lonely without his best friend Surly to follow around... how can he be in a place where Surly isn't?

He curls up on the ground, deciding to wait for him until he returns, no matter how long it takes! ]

[What. What could it be?? Was it alive? It might be dangerous but Oh's curiosity gets the better of him. Reaching out a purple finger carefully to touch the furry back.

[ Buddy has never seen anyone like Oh before but he's a little too dim-witted, and friendly, to be scared, lifting his head to give him a sad little ratty smile and a small wave. ]

[The initial fear wears off as he sees the smile and wave. Oh makes a hoot of excitement, coming over to say hello properly. Which apparently involves picking the rat up in his purple hands, letting it's back feet dangle.]

Greeting you! You are a hairy creature. We are to be friends.

[ Buddy is pretty clean, he's not a pet but he spends most of his time in the park and his fur isn't too matted or dirty. He wiggles his feet, surprised but nodding eagerly at the offer of friendship.

It's not easy for Buddy to make friends, he doesn't talk and he's a rat which some other animals dislike, it makes him happy that someone likes him! ]

[Oh is quite willing to make friends with anyone. Provided they weren't scary or trying to kill him.

This creature was very interesting. Oh turns him around, inspecting his foot pods and ear pods.]

You must be good at da-hearing with ear pods like that.
