Mhh... Do I even need to tell you what a stupid idea this is? Or did you already know and decide to do it anyway? Seems like something you'd do.

Besides, isn't this something Togo or Yuna could do instead? One of them was headed to a game, right? So why am I even here?

[ Karin is all set to agree in her own special way before hearing Fu reveal a somewhat trurer nature to her time away. ]

What do you mean?

[ It has to be something involving Itsuki, right? At least she's assuming that. ]

[Fu is quiet for a moment longer, unsure how to answer now that she'd brought it up. Honesty seems like the best policy here; 'Hero Club Five Tenets: If you're troubled, talk to someone'.

She turns her back to Karin before speaking again.]

Not long after I arrived weird things started to happen. First there was this giant tree in the centre of town that knew all of my memories. I guess it knew how alone I felt because it gave me a picture of everyone in the Hero Club. It helped keep me sane but I was still worried about everyone back home. I didn't know if you'd all have to continue fighting the Vertex without me or if Itsuki...

[She stops herself there, she doesn't want to relive those thoughts.]

A few weeks after that a huge monster attacked the city. I tried to help fight it but... a lot of people still died.

Then just last week there was a day to pay respect to the dead called the Night of Selenium. I saw... my parents ghosts and... Itsuki's too.

[She hadn't told anyone about what she'd seen that night.]

I know they weren't real— at least, I think they weren't. But still I...

Fu...

[ It's the only word she can manage. Karin had no idea how difficult things had been for Fu. She felt helpless staring on in silence, trying to figure out what to say next. All she could think was, "What would Yuna do?", "What can I do?" ]

[She can hear the concern in Karin's voice and although it feels a little better now that she's said it all out loud, Fu feels a little bad for making her worry. Fu knows there isn't much Karin can do about her situation and she doesn't want to put that responsibility on her. The Club President takes a breath and puts on a smile before turning on her heel.]

Well, that's all behind me now. And most days aren't as bad as that.

[It's not a total lie. While she has great friends in the city the absence of her friends and family from home are keenly felt on a daily basis. But there's no reason to stress Karin out too, so covering things up with a little bravado should work, right?]

Plus they'll have to try a lot harder if they want to bring me down!

[ Karin would normally brush issues like this off as someone else's problem. But her time with the Hero Club has changed the way she handles things, at least where her friends are concerned. Karin sighs at the response and promptly closes her eyes. She's onto Fu's cover up and responds with her own girl power. ]

What do you take me for? Some kind of slow idiot?

[She could make the obvious joke here but it probably wouldn't go over well. Fu suspected that Karin would see through her, especially after everything she'd said before. Now that she's being called on it, she doesn't know what to say.]

hmph!~ I can't believe I have to say this to you of all people.

So listen up!~ The Hero Club is about helping people, right? That includes club members. If that's true, then don't expect me to turn a blind eye and smile like everything is okay.

[ She says in a softer tone looking off to the side. Maybe Fu heard her or maybe she didn't but Karin felt like she needed to say it. ]

[Fu heard but she won't comment on it so as to spare Karin's pride. This time.]

I guess I don't want to worry you guys since you can't really help with this kind of thing. But I appreciate the sentiment, hehe~
