Mun is all hyped. Kara isn't too sure.
... What?
[Kara laughs a little nervously at the news, adjusting her glasses with her fingers.]
Ahh... Oh, I'm not laughing at you! I swear! It's just, ehem, all you can think about is how--[She opens her mouth, about to say "I" when she remembers that there might be Cat Grants running around this place.]-- Supergirl could challenge the Flash to a "friendly race".
I mean, we're not even sure she could run that fast... [She furrows her brow, suddenly deep in thought.] Could she?
[That is definitely something she needs to test out with Hank one of these days.]

...Supergirl vs. the Flash? I don't think that's been tried before. I mean...who would you think would win?
no subject
I don't know? Honestly, the Flash has more experience since that's his power after all. But Supergirl... [Her grin widens.] She can surprise people.

[Clueless and nerdy Walter thinks they are just discussing comic book characters. Not often he finds someone, let alone a girl, who's interested in that kind of stuff.] Besides, some bad guy would probably interrupt the race anyway and we'd never find out who won.
no subject
[Oh, Walter. You're actually talking to the one and only Kara Zor-El. Not that Kara Danvers will let you know that you are.]
God, I hope not. [That would be a disaster.] That's the last thing they need.

[If he knew that, he would lose all ability to speak normally. Despite being a policeman, he was also very much into computers, comic books, and science in general.]
Well...not about needing it so much as it being a better story.

[It's okay. It'll be fine. They can handle this. They're both heroes after all.]

[She may have spotted National City's finest buying up donuts during her many lunch runs for Cat.]
no subject
Not all cops spend their days eating donuts. Don't believe everything you see on tv.
no subject
I can't blame them. They are the best donuts in the city.

Hmm, yeah! Yeah, it would. The Flash already has a head start. [snrk] Literally. I mean, he's been running for what... a year?
no subject
[Barry scowled, which on him just looked like a cute little nose wrinkle.]
It's actually been two years. But It's an easy mistake to make with all the new heroes out there. I mean is Supergirl even sure she has super speed, flying isn't the same as running.
1/2
Right, right! Gah, sorry, I got my dates mixed. [She would have been fired if this was Cat she was talking with. Yikes.]
no subject
Well, on camera she hasn't been seen using super speed. [Because Kara hasn't even discovered she could run as fast as she can fly. She shrugs.] Maybe she doesn't know yet she could do it yet?
[It's a little embarrassing to admit but even she wasn't sure she was bulletproof until a couple of months ago.]
no subject
[Barry nods seriously.]
I mean the Flash still doesn't know all the stuff he can do. Supergirl should test out her powers a little bit more. I mean does she even know the extent of her heat vision the possibility there is endless. She could seal ship leaks, weld falling skyscrapers. She could even create glass out of sand if the conditions are right.
[And now he's babbling.]
no subject
Oh! [She's getting into this as much as Barry is.] She did use her heat vision to weld a skyscraper that broke during an earthquake. But she kinda... [ And she's losing steam.] almost destroyed a ship with it though...
[It was during her first week on the job as Supergirl, okay?]

It's a question of focus if she used the space between breaths she might have better control. I mean depending on how tight she can make the beams she might even be able to control the power levels.
no subject
Wow. You've given this a lot of thought.
no subject
Well I'm a scientist and as the current CEO of S.T.A.R Labs and the Flash's right hand guy super powers and how to use them have become kinda my thing.
[Barry grins]
no subject
That's really admirable... and I forgot to ask for your name.
no subject
Oh uh,,,my name is Barry...Barry Allen. And you are? Sorry I'm not normally this rude.
no subject
[Kara thrusts her hand out so she can shake Barry's hand.]
My name's Kara. Kara Danvers.
no subject
[Barry shakes her hand firmly.]
It's nice to meet you Kara...I hope you don't mind I called you Kara, some people mind.
no subject
I don't mind! I mean, it's better than being called "Keira" or "Kira". [Thanks Cat Grant.]
no subject
Sounds like you get that a lot.
[Barry smiles.]
Nice handshake.
fff in one of the previews, Kara accidentally crushes Barry's hand while shaking it. XDD
[Kara eases up, quickly taking her hand back.]
Ah, thanks! I get that a lot.
awww poor Barry I haven't seen that one. I've seen the ice cream one
Two years...wow. I've been helping the Flash for about the same amount of time.
Kara's expression and her "YES!"... I just can't /dies
Oooh. [She nods.] Yeah, I've been Cat Grant's assistant for that long, too. Hasn't called me by real name since.
