I doubt my freedom has anything to do with it. We're never truly free, being controlled by our mundanes or governments one way or another.

Mundanes can't be helped but governments can be navigated. Overreaching governments who abuse power don't deserve to have its citizens.

Yeah, you could say it's something like that. Governments that just use your abilities as a soldier don't deserve your time or loyalty. I'm sick of being used like a pawn in a wider game.

Are you fighting against your government or something else? I'm against a terrorist group; a rogue splinter cell from FOXHOUND my former unit.

Well, life's become more interesting now, being apart from my world and meeting another resistance group.

[Never heard of a unit by that name. If he's who he really claims to be... Jade picks and chooses her words for this man to understand.] Some friends and I resisted and fought against an alien threat. They had corrupted and manipulated an elite military branch, and used them to help capture several people. They took them to a secret base on our moon.

The population of Hillys is safe now, my family included. No one's sure if the war against the DomZ is over though. There may be more of them out there...

[She's only told him the gist of it. Specifics are going to have to wait until she knows for certain that this man is trustworthy. She doesn't even know his name yet.]
