[ he doesn't even want to express his displeasure with words. this glare should be enough. should be, but it clearly isn't.]
This is beyond stupid, and you damn well know it. You should leave me alone like any fuckin' sane person would do. Throw that man in a tin can back at this place, or the fuckin' pointy eared creature, but leave me the hell alone.
[ if there was a wall for him to make a dent in right now, he would be using it. if only to drive home the point.]
And don't even think about dragging him into it, Понимаю ?

Then again, engaging a clearly pissed off Bucky isn't exactly a smart move...]
Nice to see you using your words. It can help, sometimes, telling 'em how you feel about all this.
*quiet nazgul noises*
bucky snorts, shooting him a flat look.]
Words are not considered an asset of mine. [ there is a quiet whirring noise as the plates contract and shift, flexing almost ] The handler does not find my words, or promises, endearing however.
you okay over there in middle earth, that elf giving you grief?
Yeah, I figured, what with that mask and all. [The sound doesn't make Sam nervous, not really, but his stance is definitely not relaxed after hearing it, if it ever was. Still, he gives a pretty convincing shrug, casual, like the situation isn't weird as hell.] Most people don't respond well to aggressive behavior. These player types, they kind of get off on it.
of course he is, how dare i pay attention to any one but his magnificent self!
Others see it as a way to be faceless, unknowable. [ he give sam an appraising look. he had already decided he liked him, if only because he seemed to at least try to make steve see reason. this only proved his assessment. ] I am noticing that. Handlers with a penchant for wanting power, how original.
should introduce him to Iron Man, that'd be fun to watch
Oh, Sam knows, anyone who's jogged with Steve for more than five minutes could figure that out. He's got nothing but empathy for anyone who's on the stupid and stubborn front. Steve goes LOOKING for trouble like it's his business and nobody else's. Sam's not going to let him do that, not by himself. Where Bucky fits into that picture... We'll see.]
I'm betting that's not how you see it. [He gives Bucky a look right back this time, a raised eyebrow, an unspoken question--you're okay with this? With me? Though seeing as Bucky's not violently shoving him away, he's gotta assume he's in the clear, at least for now. Probably shouldn't press his luck but--] Is that how you see them? Handlers? No different from HYDRA?
...how about no. they can stay FAR AWAY from each other. tho tony on the party elk...
anyone who helps steve, protects steve, is at least worthy of an attempt at non-violence. and hey, steve trusts the guy, so--] Hn, affirmative.
[ at the raised eyebrow, he tries to relax a little more. not at ease but-- not itching for a fight like he had been.] Thaw me out when it's convenient for them, throw me into situations that I have no say in, expect me to set up some grand scheme for them. Yeah, pretty much the same as HYDRA handlers.

( well — it's bucky. after all, he was seen in board daylight with the guy who thinks spangly pjs is fashionable. he definitely knows what stupid looks like )

[ this was a new kind of stupid. seriously. he just wants to be left alone.]
no subject
I know you will.

bucky just-- ugh. UGH. he continues to glare as best he can at steve.
it isn't nearly as intimidating as he wants it to be and he knows it. damnit, he can't do anything when you give him that face.
also... that face is--]
Your faith in me lacks experience.

[Good job, now he looks like a small kicked asthmatic puppy.]
You don't look broken, like the one I saw. It's....so relieving.
no subject
that's cheating, rogers. you can't do that. even under all the layers of guilt and emerging memories of blood, that look still rings true. makes him want to forget the last seventy years fell apart the way they did. ]
Yeah, not-- not physically broken. [ he shoves his hands in the pockets of his hoodie before rolling his eyes.]
Stop lookin' so damned cowed, I didn't mean it--

Perhaps finding a way to dent them would serve better.
[Frankly, they'd enjoy the show]

Not sure dents would be beneficial to the mission at this point. Worked for you at all?
