Hopefully they’re as nice as they look. [but much more importantly-] Is Sakura-chan somewhere dangerous?

I hope so. Things are a little.....tense, where I am. We're helping ALASTAIR, going to help at lots of different worlds in order to get them to let us go back home. Where we are now, there's fighting we need to try figure how to stop. And make the sun come back.

[That isn't going into the bodies at Halloween or the fighting that broke out prior. She doesn't want to worry him too much. Make him feel he has to come when surely he would be better off in a safer, relaxing place like one of those he had mentioned.]

[listens intently, and worries, of course. although, much less than he would had she told the whole story. good job, sakura.]

Different worlds, hmm? You're right, that sounds like a lot of work. But if anyone can do it, it's you! [this belief is punctuated with a little cheer. sakura-chan is such a hard worker, after all.]

Yes! That is pretty exciting and new, going to different worlds. But Chantes isn't so bad, I suppose at least. But I'm trying, we all are! And right now, there's a lot of others too. Or, there will be soon!

[Success! In. At least not making him worry. As much.....she can't help but giggle at the cheering though.]

I'm glad! It'd hate to think you were by yourself, Sakura-chan. Is Syaoran-kun with you, too?

[Teasing, a little, but it's mostly curiosity. It's possible that this version has never met Syaoran at all, but he doubts that's the case. Hitsuzen and all that.]

No. Nobody else from home is. You were, and Kurogane-san is still there for now. But there are lots of people who are looking out for me, so. So I'm okay.

[Even if she misses Syaoran. Her father, Tomoyo. Even Toya. And still working through her feelings on Yukito after the Yue revelation.]

[He regrets the teasing now. Someone as young and sweet as her shouldn't have to be separated from her home, her family. And she certainly doesn't need anyone reminding her of that. Softer-]

I'm sure you'll see them soon. [Quick, better topic!] Kuro-tan's there, too? Don't worry, he's not quite as scary as he looks!

He is! And...I know. He's kind of grumpy, but I don't think he's so bad. He's helped me a lot since I first got here.

[Looking out for her, accepting her in staying with the two of them, even when she didn't know them. She's still not quite sure why he called her 'princess' upon first seeing her either.]

Aww, that's just like Kuro-daddy~ You should stay close to him, especially in any dangerous world. You'll be safest that way. And Sakura-chan can protect him too, right?

[He trusts that Kurogane will protect the children, even when he doesn't quite trust him with anything else. And now, back to teasing.]

[Fai plz. You doubt and underestimate the Littler Kitty. Not that....she actually realizes she has Kurogane wrapped around her finger of course. Or that she would take advantage of it if she did know.]

R-right! He does seem pretty impressed with the Sword.

[He has faith in you mini!daughter. You will embrace your inner princess and unintentionally top the hell out of everyone. It'll be great! Laughs.]

Kuro-sama is so predictable. [But, wait-} What's sword?

[Because he can sense that this Sakura's magic is a little different than what he's familiar with. And from the way she talked earlier, he's not surprised it may be more directly offensive. But...sword? It makes him picture Sakura fighting with Sōhi or Hien. What a strange image.]

Eheh. I guess he is.

[And here she rummages through her pockets, producing the handful of Clow Cards, holding up the Sword one to him in particular.]

This! I have others too. But this is the one he's seen me use. It changes my staff into a sword and I kind of....instinctively figure using it. But I'm also getting lessons too.

[Yes. It's certainly a more possibly dangerous and violent form of magic, or one example of it. Especially given her age but no less impressive as a result.]

[Impressive indeed. He could tell she was powerful, not necessarily more so than the Sakura he knows, but certainly differently so. This just cements that. He leans forward (and down) to see the card more clearly. It’s not familiar magic, but it’s obviously strong as well. Why so awesome, Sakura?]

Wow~ Sakura-chan is so strong. [More clapping? It’s not his fault, okay?] What about the other cards? Are they all similar?

[H-hopefully not? He’s happy she can defend herself, of course. But...he can’t help but hope she’s never had to use the sword against a real opponent, and that she never well. Probably a useless wish.]

They all look similar. Sort of like tarot cards? But they're different. They've been pretty helpful on the missions with ALASTAIR so far too.

[She invites him to see the others, holding the other eighteen out so he can have a look. She's getting better on this, showing others and sharing her magic. Especially for Fai, because she knows and trusts him. Can sense that he knows some magic himself.]

[Shhh, we don’t talk about that magic.

He nods along to her explanation, and accepts her invitation to take a closer look. The variety is impressive, and he can easily imagine how useful they’ve been to her. After a few moments of silence, he taps on one of them carefully.]

What about this one?

[It’s totally The Flower fyi. The rest of them are fairly self-explanatory, but...he can't quite see the combat potential on that one. Plus, it’s adorable!]

[We do. Just. About hers. Not his. For. Some reason.....

She can't help but give a sheepish laugh at that, recalling her first encounter with Flower at school.]

Ah, Flower-san....she almost drowned everyone in flowers at our school athletics day before I caught her. She just wanted to join in the celebrations though, I think, and got all excited. But there was one time I did use her to make some flowers for my grandfather. The same way mum used to, on White Day. Since he gave me a dress for Valentines.

[The reason being that he’s the worst, y/y?

He listens intently as she explains, and can’t help but (genuinely) smile as her story goes on. Sakura-chan is dangerous that way - in every world, it seems. It also looks like the card’s are more sentient than he’d assumed, as well. Maybe they’re like Chi?]

She sounds like a good [magical construct?] friend. [Thoughtfully-] You should her use her where you are now, when it’s safe. It’ll give everyone a reason to celebrate!

[Which, from what she said earlier, might not be something that comes up very often.]

[He kind of is. Sorry, not!mum.

She considers this for a moment before beaming.]

You think so? I don't want her to get too excited again. But...you're right. We could probably use that. After the last couple of celebrations.

[Everyone being so happy and then. Well. Warnings, bodies turning up. Surely something like this would help cheer people up again, even if it might be simple as Sakura using Flower to shower them with flowers.]

Mhm, I do. I’m sure if Sakura-chan asks her to, she won’t cause any trouble. It’s different once they’re yours, huh? [More or less rhetorical. The cards wouldn’t be very practical if they were constantly at risk of getting ‘over-excited’.] And everyone needs a reason to relax, once and while.

[He's tempted to ask about those 'celebrations' she mentioned, but...it doesn't sound like an easy topic. And the last thing he wants to do is remind her of more painful events.]

Speaking of relaxing-[Not.] Has your training with Kuro-tan started already? He's a strict teacher~ [Has there been rock-throwing? If so, there will be words.]

It is. Once I write my name on them, they're mine. But ah, I have been training with him a little. And Pearl. I'm still getting the hang of it outside of letting the Sword card do the fighting for me.

[Because using it sort of means she already has some sort of sense on what to do, how to move, how to strike. It's different with training, using wooden ones in practicing her movements and all.]

Two teachers? Ah, that sounds tiring!

[And a little confusing. But what does he know? He’s not unfamiliar with swords, specifically, but they’ve never been his weapon of choice. From the sounds of it, Sakura will be better trained in no time.]

Are they both teaching you the same style, or...?

It is. But it's worth it! Pearl-san has a different style. It's sort of....almost like dancing. Ballet, I guess. Kurogane-san is much more....direct?

[She's not quite sure how to word it, exactly. But it is rather much more rough and straightforward in comparison. More offensive.]

[More murder-y? ...On second thought, direct might be the best word for it!]

Dance? I’ve heard people say that about fighting before, but I’ve never seen it. It sounds very impressive!

It is! Pearl-san was amazing when she first showed me! I'm not at that level yet, but I hope so, with lots of practice!

[She is so determined! In spite of her occasional clumsiness.]

It sounds like she couldn't ask for a better student!

[Sakura-chan could be the clumsiest person there, and he'd still believe that 100%.]

Ah, well. I can't say for others she might be helping but. I'm trying!
