Since I've been "woken up"...

You're not planning on having me in that other world we know about, are you?

[Mun's hesitant response has Noah curious. Hmn, this is unlike her... Maybe he'll have something new to read up on.]

You usually have something in mind. [He smiles a bit, as he pours tea into a mug.] Still. This little break is something I appreciate.

It's been a while since the last time we've had a chat. Hope all is well on your end. [They both know it's not going so good with him.]

They usually have a plan or something in mind. It's just usually not very good or has a million catches...

You haven't? Hm, that second part reminds me of someone, I know. There's a lot of those types around, I guess.

(And this is the part where Marie begins to suspect he was some sort of agent or some kind and she raises an eyebrow. Despite knowing that nothing could really happen here - she still is a bit wary sometimes.)

We probably haven't met. I will admit I don't get to see the light of day every often these days.

(But mind you, she still hasn't given her name.)

Muensters, they always know what the half-time count is. Won't let you peek at the box score, though.

[Oh. Wait. Resistance slang might confuse others.]

-They know what they're doing. Mostly. Don't wanna share it with us. [Sara shrugs a shoulder, grinning wolfishly.]
slammer: (goldilocks)

[Good thing there aren't any manila folders, or there'd be some serious stink-eye going on.]

Yeah, well, 's what papas do for their kidlets. Try 'n keep them safe, I mean. [The smile shrinks by a few teeth.] Gotta let the baby bird use its wings eventually, though. Creeps and weirdos ain't the be-all and end-all of humanity.

[Bluntly:] And if they give you grief, that's when you clock their lights out.

[Having powers isn't exactly a cakewalk, either.]

Not unless you got super-speed in your back pocket. [Sara laughs, a harsh bark of amusement.] Too hard on the legs.

[The look on Noah's face drains the half-smile right off of her face. Oh. She knows that look.] ...Sometimes, you gotta put 'em down. Slam the slammers. They try to get up, you make sure they never do. That, I get.
slammer: (chompette)

...Oops. Typo! Super-speed. *facepalm* I need more coffee.

[personal profile] slammer 2015-10-19 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah. That's- what'd they call it? "Superdyne", I think. [She scoffs.] Not like I need it. You got enough oomph behind you, you don't need stuff like that.

[Spend long enough clawing for existence, you learn exactly what you're capable of. Sara shrugs one shoulder.]

..."Transfer of kinetic energy" 's what it says on my paperwork. Ain't exactly hard to punch hard with that.
slammer: (princess)

[personal profile] slammer 2015-10-19 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Walcott. Sara. [She reaches over and gives Bennet's hand an extremely firm handshake.]

Eh. 'S not safe, anyway. [The mug of tea gets an almost wistful glance, but she doesn't say anything about it.] Fill out paperwork, wait around and bam. Suddenly it's "oh, you're a badger now, here's your star, go bust heads". ...Easier when you don't answer to somebody's orders.
slammer: (badger den)

[personal profile] slammer 2015-10-19 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
'S what they all say. Lots of people've got stronger.

[You've said the magic words, HRG. Sara visibly brightens. She snags the mug and scampers off at a pace just a touch too fast for a normal person. When she returns, it's with tea of her own.]

Thanks. Haven't had a mug in a dog's age. [Sluuuurp.] Eugh. Little strong.
slammer: (scamper)

[personal profile] slammer 2015-10-19 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh. Usually.

[She wrinkles her nose at the mug, but doesn't hesitate to take another noisy slurp of tea. Table manners? What're those?]

Only ever had the cheap instant stuff. Tastes terrible, but it's tea. This stuff's not bad, though. What is it?

Uh-oh, that sounds ominous. You're happy about taking a break?

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-19 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Sylar rolls his eyes a little, but smiles back. ] Hi, Noah.

So I know what you're probably going to say, but- is there anything I can do to help? You know, when you get back from your break.
termineur: (Challenged)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-20 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Really...? You mean the Building 26 I infiltrated? I was never scared of them. Didn't have a chance, not even with you on the team.

[ Slight sigh. Ah, memories. He does look somewhat more serious as he turns to thoughts of the future. ]

I assume Renautas is a little more competent- unless they're employing Danko for some reason. If it's worse, then they have to be using those abilities somehow, either through forced slavery or some sort of workaround...

[ ...well. Crud. ] They're stealing powers, aren't they?
termineur: (idk)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-24 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ His eyes narrow as Noah explains what they're doing. No, that's not anything he wants a part of. Even when he was still killing, those powers were for him, as he best person to wield them. They weren't for everyone. ]

So they have Micah, then. Or another technopath. And Molly. This is a lot darker than I hoped.

[ A moment of thought, of how he would infiltrate them, and he realizes that he can't. If they hijacked his brain, it could spread his ability to whatever they were using it for- and the madness that came with it. Unleashed, that Hunger could easily consume the world. He wonders briefly if that was exactly what was happening. And there was another power that would be disastrous for them to get as well... ]

What about Claire? Is that why you're on the case? They have her?
termineur: (Careful)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-24 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
[ He raises an eyebrow and sort of half-nods. ]

Well, if this place- Renautas, you said?- if they have her, then I think it's everyone's business. But sure.

So what's their agenda? World-altering? Are they trying to 'even things out' for the human race or something?
termineur: (Talk)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-25 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm going to need a lot more information about what's going on before I decide anything like that. But...I'd most likely try to infiltrate them enough to destroy their operation from the inside.

[ He actually looks thoughtful about this hypothetical situation. ]

I'd need to know if it was worth the risk of them getting at me.
termineur: (idk)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-25 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ Heavy sigh. ] I know it's hard to believe, Noah, but I don't do that anymore.

Parkman didn't mean to, but he cured me by trapping me in my own head for awhile. It wasn't great in there.
termineur: (Orly?)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-25 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Peter seems to think so.
termineur: (srsly)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-25 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
And what would convince you? Anything? I kind of doubt it.
termineur: (Left to my thoughts)

[personal profile] termineur 2015-10-30 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ He looks away, vaguely uncomfortable with what Noah said. He did regret what he did to Claire-- but considering how far Noah took his revenge, he couldn't feel regret for tormenting the former agent. And it'd probably be better if they don't revisit all that, so he keeps quiet on the subject. ]

I've learned that lesson, too.

All right. If you think I'm a danger there, I'll back off.

[ Wow, that was tough to say. ]

... things must be seriously bad if you're glad for a break.
indestructigirl: (pic#6580368)

[personal profile] indestructigirl 2015-10-21 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[She automatically returns the embrace.] I'm always all right, dad.

[She was aiming for light but it falls a little short; she's too unsettled and pulls back, brow knit together tightly as she meets his gaze. Then she sighs and shakes her head slightly. Her mouth curves upward at the corners in a sad, ghost of a smile.]

I want to ask. I won't, but I want to.
indestructigirl: (Default)

[personal profile] indestructigirl 2015-10-22 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
[She's trying not to show her worry but Claire's never been the best of actresses, especially when it comes to her dad. The best she's ever really managed is the napkin trick at dinner and she's pretty sure he knows about it and just lets it slide.

To her credit, she keeps her voice calm and her tone at least passingly close to light.]

Ask away.

[personal profile] indestructigirl 2015-10-24 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a brief moment when she considers telling him. Maybe, just maybe, if he knew the truth, he'd leave it alone.

She knows he won't, though. She also knows what she has to do. Even if he's aware of what she's doing, even if it leads to another fight and years of radio silence, she knows she has no choice. There's too much at stake. So meeting her dad's gaze, she does the only thing she can do given the circumstances.

She lies.]

I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
indestructigirl: (Default)

I KNOW RIGHT!

[personal profile] indestructigirl 2015-10-24 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, so much for that route. She isn't surprised and even feels a touch of guilt at having tried it. She won't be trying that again. Time for a new plan.

She takes a step back to put a little distance between them. It isn't much space but it's enough to help her refocus on the bigger picture.]

I love you, dad, and I want to tell you. I do. But I can't risk it. I'm sorry but- [She sighs and gives a shake of her head.] There's just too much at stake.
