On Eddie's idea of father/son bonding @ [community profile] mayfield_rpg

"Corruption of the innocent?" That's what you'd call it?

I'd say I'm inclined to disagree with you, friend, but then that's par for the course with us. I've little reason to justify myself to you, but I'll tell you exactly what I told Luke: he's learning a very practical life skill. I'm teaching the boy how to drive, for God's sake. Grand theft auto simply comes with the territory.

You should be proud of me. After little more than a year and a half in that town, I'm finally starting to get the hang of this parenting business. And you know what else? We should consider ourselves lucky. After all, what Susan doesn't know won't hurt me. It's a very nice car. And we didn't even have to worry about hot-wiring the damn thing. Though that's a lesson for another day, I suppose. Perhaps if I were to pose it as a puzzle...

[The real question is how many picarats a "puzzle" like that would be worth.]

...Picarats?

Sorry, I have no icons yet. This is Prussia from APH.

Kesesesese! You taught your kid how to steal a car? Hah! Wish I thought of doing that with my younger brother when we were kids. Of course, we didn't have cars back then, but you gotta admit hijacking a damn carriage is waaaaaaay more awesome than a car. I mean, have you seen the movies? Shit like that's always cooler!

Man, I miss the old days...

Tell me about it. These days, all the movies about wars and fighting are so...mushy. What happened to the good ol' days, when there was blood, sweat and bone, huh? Now it's all "CGI" and fancy-schmancy computer work. Those actors don't even know how to fight properly! Give me a sword and I'll show Zorro how to really cut some freaking awesome Zs.

[snort] Yeah, why would I doubt that.

I'd say that the method doesn't matter as long as you get the desired results. If he learns to drive from a video game, then I think it works. I also suggest music lessons.

Oh, and picarats are...well I'm not entirely sure. I've learned of them thanks to Professor Layton, but all I really know is that they're rewards that come with puzzle solving. The harder the puzzle, the more picarats one receives.

Ah, I think that was more my mun's mistake than mine. The hands-on approach is definitely better than a virtual one. A keyboard can work, but a piano is better. And a stolen piano is still a piano. (Not that keyboards don't have their place too, but I digress.)

I should think so. Layton is a professor from the same world I've become acquainted with. At least I assume they're from the same world - he's mentioned Luke and picarats, and loves puzzles. [Smirk] He might even be a match for you.
