L-Listen. My relationship with Ash is strictly p-professional! I mean, yes, she's quite beautiful, but... I can't let my personal feelings get involved! This is important superhero business! I fully comprehend the potential fallout that could happen if I'm not careful! It's in every superhero story ever. The villain takes advantage of the hero's love for the heroine, and--
I mean! Not that I love her or anything! You're-- you're missing the point. I realize I have to be careful, that's all! I won't get involved with her. I can't. I... I don't know if I'd even get the chance, anyway.
...This has nothing to do with X-Ray. He's already suspicious of Ash as it is. He's not jealous, that's ridiculous-- Why would he be jealous of Ash? He's just-- he's just preoccupied with the whole Mogar business. But when I take care of that problem, then none of us will have anything to worry about! I know I'm doing the right thing this time. I swear, I'll get to the bottom of this!
