Mun is making him play nice in his campaign
No.
Of course I know what you are going to say. Or think. And the answer is still no. It will always be no.
You have harassed me far more than enough. If it was within my power you would be dead in an instant. I would not even pause long enough to watch you suffer.

Rescue someone. An elf.
I care not for their plight, and it would be easier to just leave them to their fate.

I mean...you don't care at all but that doesn't mean that the ACT of saving an elf isn't sweet all the same.
I mean sure you're being forced into it against your will...
...it's sweet.
[Because she said so]

And it will take quite some time and I will probably be captured. Actually, I know I will be.
[Mun is making him do it anyway. And it will be sweet.]
no subject
.Aw if you're as smart as you think you are being captured is no big deal.

[All he needs is another bubbly, happy person following him around telling him everything's gonna be okay, never shutting up, calling him squishy and treating him like a human.]
Intelligence will not help me when I'm dead.
no subject
...but how is being a smarty pants pessimist helping you out now? You're still being forced to do something you don't like.
no subject
And what is your suggestion?
[His tone suggests that he values her opinion somewhat below the opinion of pond scum.]
no subject
Well we start with candy and mushrooms, and then we see where the trip takes us!
you're amazing. XD
Why thank you~

If that offends, I may withdraw the gesture at no cost to myself. But, as offering it and your acceptance of it costs nothing of either of us, I decided that it would not be a rude gesture in light of your present circumstances.
Would you wish for me to retrieve it? Or do you believe you may reclaim your will from the bonds which now encompass your present existence?
no subject
[He means Illithids. He pauses, tentacles unconsciously curling and unfurling as he thinks.]
No. I will accept this gesture of luck. I am in no position to turn down anything which might change the predicament I have found myself in.
no subject
I understand your ambivalence to the gesture. Truth be told I had not considered social bonds to be necessary or even beneficial until I found myself in this state. While I will not sully your time with the details, I will state that this lack of ability has forced beings such as mundanes the means to facilitate an ability that can achieve more than even what their collective abilities are capable.
You'd do well to consider this in any acts that seek to antagonize them as a collective.
Of course, those of our kind would never consider this a possibility, as such delusions of connection only serves to diminish our defenses towards the other. Perhaps their own weakness allows for a connection that we would ordinarily lack due to our own competitiveness and power.
no subject
You speak as though their humanity is a strength and not a pathetic weakness.
no subject
Their present state is simply difference. The notion of power is ours to make a determination, but I choose the word difference to acknowledge that there may be more there than we may be lead to believe. After all, there are champions among their order, and I am not proud enough to be blind to the few that have challenged even those of our kind.
In this way I will not fall myself surprised when I hear of a greater being fall to them. I will also freely admit that for many of their number this is giving them greater consideration than they are owed.
I myself find their very existence curious. Among many other curiosities, the fact that they continue to persist despite the frailty of their very being.
You need not choose to share in this line of thought. I have become accustomed to my singularity on this point.
no subject
The scope of their being is not just frailness, but time. Perhaps if their lifespan was more than a few dozen decades they would achieve more, or be worthy of such.
I will admit that there have been those who have surprised me. As much as is possible. But I cannot help but detest them as a whole.

ehehe, your squidbutt is cute too
don't mind the D&Desque AU chiming in...
What is your mundane forcing you to do, anyway?
The more the merrier!
A rescue mission that has minimal chances of success. For some elf that's of little importance.
[If by little importance he means the rogue that's saved his life a billion times.]

And the brains of intelligent creatures, but let's focus on the actual issues at play here.
(No she's not going to let this go.)

[You're looking kind of tasty there yourself.]

...I can actually sympathize with that, trapped as I am in a land where the herbivore is queen.
To the subject at hand. Who is this elf in need of rescue, and why does your mundane think she - they - are worthy of rescue?
no subject
Someone who has been travelling with the group who is following me to my destination. Much as I try to be rid of them.
Apparently, according to my mundane, I should help them because they have helped me. A ridiculous concept.
